It has to be Gage. Makes most sense considering his familiarity with the offense. All I know is that we have to bring someone in because we're screwed if any of our other young guys go down.

Might we promote a WR from the PS?

IDK why people rip on gage so much? i thought he was a pretty good receiver with great size just lacking in the speed area. I know this is not a game to be remembered but the 09 playoff game against the Ravens he could not be covered

I'd be fine with Gage, he's a pretty decent possession guy and I feel more comfortable with him than Hawk/Dwill unfortunately.

Forgot about him. Could see that. He sucked in Seattle, but I think most recievers not named Johnson would suck in Seattle.

IDK Why nobody's mentioning Mark Clayton? Unless his injury last year was more serious than I thought. He wasn't anything special, but he could stretch the field like Britt did and he'd sign for a minimal contract. That especially makes sense if Britt's coming back this season at some point.

Wish we could turn the clock back and sign Braylon Edwards for the same contract San Fran got him for. They got robbed the WR market, dude's worth way more than that. Sure he's a diva, but IDK something about WRs, they all are.

Smehow I have to think that Mike Reinfeldt had to have a "if Britt goes down" backup plan in a drawer somewhere, especially after last season. I'm sure that a few agents are getting phone calls tonight to talk about availability of unsigned talent. I wouldn't be surprised if Hasselbeck is in on some of those conversations. We'll know more by Tuesday....they have to have someone here by then.

TO had a pretty good season last year and honestly, he's behaved himself ever since he left Dallas. Give him the standard 1 year up to 6-7 million incentive contract and put him on the field.

Gage wouldn't even be in my top 10. I'd start Hawk or DWill before him.

Gage makes a lot of sense from the standpoint that he can beat press coverage. I think in the Ravens game it was more of the box being stacked to stop CJ and Gage was really good at quickly finding and getting to the open spots the defense was allowing.

To me, it's a matter of 1) can Nate continue to catch passes reliably, 2) gain separation, 3) be the type of deep threat Britt posed, and 4) can Gage step in and catch reliably?

A lot of it to me depends on are Williams, Cook, Hawkins, Mariani and Stevens capable of being a reliable group? If so, the receiving corps can overcome missing Britt. Cook has the size and speed, but doesn't play the same positions Britt does, though he can easily play outside situationally. But he's got to produce more than 2 catches a game. That won't cut it. I'm not sure where he's at or where the coaches are at with him.

Williams offers a receiver with a wide catch radius. He's got some savvy. The question is where he's at with his injury right now. Basically all these other guys have to be able to handle more of a load.

If that's not possible then someone else needs to be brought in. But this offense is about to committ to being pass-happy. So, anything's possible, and at this point in the season, they don't have to committ to anyone they sign for long.

As unfortunate as it is -- and I hope it's not career-threatening especially -- I think the Titans offense has an opportunity for the rest of the cast to really develop into high-quality receivers under Hasselbeck, Palmer etc. without relying on Britt. (I hate calling him) Hass is the type of QB who can really help train a receiver into proper behaviors. We haven't had that in a long time, IMO.
