I don't think there is anyone out there that is going to help the Titans very much, no matter how much they are willing to spend. The only way to get someone who will make an impact above or beyond Williams or Hawkins would be via trade. James Jones in GB is just one name that comes to mind, whether they are looking to move him or not is to be seen. NFL trades are rare, especially mid-season.

With that being said, it's time to look at ways INTERNALLY the Titans can replace Britt. I think they need to get as much of their talent on the field at the same time, since one guy can't match Britt's impact level.

    - Moving CJ to the slot in more sets will allow for Ringer to get on the field more. CJ has struggled catching the ball so far, but getting him in open space will be effective more times than not. Using bubble screens or even go routes (worked once on Sunday)

    - Jared Cook has to play more snaps, and putting him in the slot or outside should be a huge mis-match against smaller DB's or Safties. He just isn't good enough of a blocker to play TE, especially the way our running game has been. Use Stevens and Graham at the TE spot and get Cook outside like a WR or H Back.

Avery is almost the exact same type of WR as Hawkins except he is trying to come back from injury. Let's not be cheap and hope that one of these guys makes a comeback. Get us a legit #1 or #2 WR. It's early enough in the season to get a good one and bring him along and get him up to speed going into the bye week.

    Steve Smith, Michael Crabtree?

    What a brilliant idea.

Let's eat CJ's contract, let an average on a GREAT day running back take over, and have two #1 WRs for next year. (This year that receiver would get completely shut down because nobody in the league is scared of Javon Ringer)

I suspect they are scouring other team's practice squads. Maybe they can get a young guy that a team is trying to hide.

really sucks for Britt, he was starting to come into his own.

Yeah but considering he was a 1st rounder, we could probably get him for a 3rd or 4th. He told me he hates playing with Alex Smith.

It is a silly idea, but we wouldn't be eating CJ's contract. He would get his guaranteed money and this year's money, but the rest would be on his new team. If he only racks up 500 or so yards this year (if he keeps up current pace) then nobody will want him at all with a kind of contract like his.
