    So use it. League wide you see teams have that unknown kid that makes a bit of a name for himself. I'd say most the time it's simply because they're getting their shot- so they're a bit hungrier. A bit more excited to be on the field. But when was the last time we had a player like that on offense? We rarely take the chance.
    This offseason we placed two wide receivers on the practice squad. One being James Kirkendoll who seems like he could be a player. Granted, he'll probably never be a star or even a number 1, but I'd say he can at least do what Hawkins and Damien Williams are supposed to. He looked good in camp and preseason... treat players well. Let them see their efforts are rewarded.

    The other is Michael Preston, and the only thing I really question about him is the level of competition he's played. He looked good in Arena and college- and you have to give him credit for working his way up to the NFL. Maybe he can continue stepping up?

    But this is the reason we have a practice squad, right? For emergency situations like these? Utilize it, I say. When the best options we have are guys that are either always injured (the reason we're here) or have been cut for unknown reasons often by teams that need help at the position- what do we have to lose?

    I think we have a QB good enough to not need superstar WRs. Hasselbeck is more comfortable spreading the ball around anyway so a quick guy that can get open is what we need. Someone good after the catch.

    Good points Deuce. Bring one of the guys up from the PS and perhaps sign one veteran. From what I understand, there are only 4 WR's on the roster right now, right?

    Yeah, 4. Which seems dangerous any way you look at it.

    But... I still like the idea of trying Cook as a WR (basically what he is).

    Good post duece ... nothing remotely controversial .. I agree...this is what practice squads are for.... people get hurt and we need someone that fits the system..... Preston or kirkendoll sounds good to me.... just saw on twitter that an agent has just been told that they are not signing anyone today.. possibly during to someone being called up?

    Kirkendoll wasn't even the #1 on his own College team. He's a shifty return type guy, undrafted. We're not talking 1,2 or 3. None of these guys are gonna get run anyway, they're either not ready or not good enough. Gage is still better than all of these guys, remember he was our best WR 2 years ago.

    Yeah, I like using Cook as much as possible. Two Tight End sets and then move Cook out wide at times. They need to figure out a way to get him more involved - or perhaps he needs to figure out a way to get more involved.

    He had 707 yards receiving. The next WR had 478 yards... so if Kirkendoll wasn't the #1.. uhhhhhh...

    And he's not a shifty return type guy. Are you getting him confused with someone else?

    Saying Gage is better than anyone is blasphemous.

    ^Like who? Clowney or Gilyard?

    IF Clowney can stay healthy, I'll agree. But he hasn't been able to yet...so.

    I'm thinking there's got to be something wrong with Gilyard also.
