The Ravens don't have a good offense? They are currently 14th in the league, despite being held to under 250 yards and 13 points by our defense.

Wow, it is crazy. We are in the first quarter of the season. We are 3-1, and our team looks good so far. There is nothing wrong with being optimistic for our team. Why is it such a bad thing to be confident about our team. You know, for too damn long we are a conservative fan base always second guessing our team. "Wait til we play a good team, then we will see. Reality will sink in." You know, I have been a fan of this organization since 1977, a very long time, and I have always been modest about our team, even when they are doing well, while I listen to everyone else boast about their teams while they have crappy seasons. All I'm saying is, "We're 3-1, and many of thought we were going to maybe end up with a couple wins this year." Lets be true fans and enjoy our winning record. Our team is playing good football, and who know's we could very well be 4-0, but it took us a while to get adjusted. I live in California, and all there are here are Raiders, Cowboys, and 49ers fans, and all I hear is how damn great their teams are, while I usually take the modest conservative route and cross my fingers that we can pull out the next game. Well, guys, I say this, "Death to the Steelers this week, We're going to Kick their @$$, and when we play the Texans, we are going to Kick their @$$, We will take the division, and Yes, CJ is not having a good season, because he has been off, but also, remember, they do stuff 8 men in the box and play to contain him. Who cares, we have a great passing game, and so long as it works, then by all means BRING IT ON!!!!" I have confidence this year, and you know, for what it's worth, I am going to enjoy what we have done thus far. It is by far better than I had expected.

I will sit in my Mancave this Sunday and watch us beat the Steelers. It's about time we give our team props and quit being so negative. And if we lose, then so be it, we adjust, and come out punching next game, and not lose confidence. This team really reminds me of the Warren Moon days. Except one thing, we have an awesome running back that can make it a double edged blade once we get it established. "The House of Pain," is back!!!!!

:what: Although I haven't been a Titans fan as long as you (jumped on the bandwagon after witnessing the Music City Miracle--which was one of the happiest moments of my life), I totally agree with your post! I'm tired of hanging my head whenever the Titans are mentioned (last year was particularly rough with the total team meltdown!) and am relishing the "positive energy" surrounding this year's team! Sorry, I don't have any high-fives yet to give but did want to thank you for this post! Go Titans! :logo:

What do you mean "our"? I do not believe that this is the team you root for.

Hey, it doesn't matter how long you have been a Titans fan, so long as you are a Titans fan. I say, Patriots, Cowboys, Colts, Packers, and Steeler fans are very common and plentiful. They are like peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches also like bologna sandwiches, they are everywhere. We on the other hand are like Fillet Mignon, not many of us around, but are "High Quality." Thanks for the props on the post. I am really happy where we are at the moment, and seriously think this team will go far this season and next season.

The difference in the defense is coaching, most of the same players are back. Gray is a great defensive cord. that has a track record. The only thing cecil had was being fisher's buddy. And cecil is getting paid by Bud now, thanks to the ex-coach!

I am a big fan of jerry gray and our new staff! Nice to see adjustments during the game!

    Gray has been excellent.

It's still early in the season but up to now no team stands out in the AFC as Dominant.

At this point in the season the AFC is wide open and we're right up there.
The Ravens are the favoured team and suggestions that we beat them because they were somehow on a low after beating the Steelers is ridiculous.

We owned the Ravens in every aspect of that game.

We switched off on offense late in the Browns game which lead to failed drives which concerned me a little. Other than that the last 3 games we've played very well on both sides of the ball.

I do not see the Steelers beating us this week.

The Texans will be the real test.
They've at times played well on offense and defense but haven't done it consistently and have yet to put a complete game together.

They will either really gel as the season progresses or continue to stutter and then fall apart again.

Either way I think this season is a very good new teams to make the play offs in the AFC.

The Pats are flying by the seat of their pants with great offense and no defense.

The Jets are pathetic,Bolts are struggling and the Colts are done.

absolutely... I think it probably starts with the changes up front. That wide 9-technique with a focus on getting upfield to the QB put a huge strain on our LBs to fill the massive gaps left by the d line. We're playing tighter and more disciplined on the line, which frees the LBs up to make plays. Witherspoon and Ruud are taking advantage. All of a sudden we're not constantly getting burned down the middle by every TE we see.

    Total defense 7th
    Scoring defense 1st
    Run defense 8th
    Sacks tied for 12th

Pretty solid all the way around. the essential thing is that we are always in the top 10 against the run. That has been the focus of Jerry Gray with this defense. If there is an area for improvement it might be with sacks but we don't have dynamic pass rushers so to have 10 sacks in 4 games is not bad at all.

The big difference i see is that nothing comes easy against us. No easy screens for 10 yards for example. Our guys are always in position to make plays. You can't stop human error and you can't stop an offense from making great plays but as long as guys are in position to get the job done. Gray gets the credit for that.

Biggest change personnel wise is using finny in the slot in the nickel. Finny in the slot is a huge upgrade to what we have had over the last few years. He has to be the best 3rd down NB in the league and that has been a huge help.

It might be sensible to come back and revisit this after the visit to Pittsburgh on Sunday ; I think that will be the true litmus test of how good we are.

Its great that we now have enough capable bodies up front that means we have a rotation which will keep everyone fresh wothout diminishing our defensive impact.

Morgan is starting show his true colours and Jones is having a great impact at DE. Ball is always reliable and has a non-stop motor.

Witherspoon is playing some of the best football of his career and Ayers shows every chance of becoming a top five LB in the league.

I'm not sure about Ruud. He reminds me a little of Peter Sirmon , great against the run usually but when isolated in coverage , particularly against TE's , the money is always on them.

No-one throws to Finny so McCourty and Verner have had to man up quick and are doing so in great style. Griffin is still Griffin , three great games then one lousy but he is what he is. Babineaux has been the one who I was expecting little of but has become a really decent plug-in in Hope's absence. With Hope out another few weeks , lets hope his form holds.
