I completely agree with this. Especially the part where you said he doesn't have the drive to get the tough yards. I haven't seen CJ even attempt to break a tackle or hit a hole hard knowing he'll get hit hard in return.

    What I have seen is:

    1) CJ looks around, doesn't see gaping hole and collapses as soon as someone gets a hand on him (usually at or behind the line of scrimmage).
    2) CJ sees a hole and hits it at half throttle and the hole collapses before he can make it through.

I almost feel like CJ is expecting the "our O-line isn't doing great" excuse to hold up in the locker room. He doesn't feel like it's his fault.

His only successful (longer than 3 yards) runs have happened when the defense was totally unprepared for the play call. Any RB could have made those runs. CJ hasn't made a single big play this season if you ask me. Not only that, but he's actually hurt the offense because he's not even a fatty like LenWhale that can just flop at the line of scrimmage and gain 2-3 yards.

Yes, the O-line isn't great. Yes, the play calling could be better. But guess what, "elite playmakers" should be able to make some plays even with the odds against them. That's why they get paid the big bucks.

The one thing that really pissed me off about the deal they struck is that it was almost 100% guaranteed for the first 3 years. The FO knew CJ, they knew all he cared about was himself, his stats and getting his money. Did they really expect him to work his tail off once he realized he wasn't going to the hall of fame and all his money was guaranteed? I didn't expect him to fall off this hard, but I always knew it was a possibility.

That's why you put incentives in your contracts - especially for players like CJ.

I have CJ2K on my fantasy team. I hope he steps back up soon.

Hmmm.....Yesterday, I watched as the Steeler 3rd and 4th stringers (Redmond/Dwyer) actually pushed the pile a few extra yards a couple times. I haven't seen that from the Titans RB's in a few years.....since Lendale. Even watching CJ's 21 yard rush yesterday, he looked slower than usual.

Now, reports are that he has a hammy issue. Damn, $30 million guaranteed only buys a 1974 Ford Pinto nowadays.

Maybe cause those two running backs are at least 35 lbs heavier than CJ. CJ isn't going to push the pile like those running backs. Steelers Oline were pushing their running back forward. They had some pride. CJ isn't CJ2K, I admit that, but a player doesn't get awful overnight. Some players have bad years. See Cortland Finnegan last year.

Time for the Titans to start talking about restructuring his contract... You know... so he gets paid like he plays.

Uhhhh.....point is, we have no backs to push because we've become so dependent on the Juke 'n Jive of the $50M man. Obviously, it wasn't Quinn Johnsons fault. But he got major blame. The O-Line is not that bad, only the center has changed.

I don't think Hasselbeck has a lot of confidence in CJ right now. I saw him wide open numerous times, Hass looked elsewhere.

Bad years happen to Cornerbacks......a small RB who doesn't take a hit but loses his first step is pretty much washed up.

I don't blame the guy, I wouldn't have confidence in CJ either.

We do have backs to push. That's why we drafted Harper. The problem is we spent so much money on CJ that the coaches are basically obligated to get him going. We'll see how long they keep hitting their heads into that wall.

The thing i'm wondering is how long the coaches will be obligated to keep running with CJ until there comes a point where they have to look at other options like benching him and going another direction. There has to come a point where the towel is thrown in and we start exploring other ways of doing things.

That's true. Such a huge investment. They are obligated (reference the VY years) to try for a while. I hope he comes through and proves us wrong. Not sure Harper is the guy, we'll see.
