Okay..he won't be a Kenny Britt or top 20 receiver. But he sure will be good enough to be our #2 WR.

Exactly, I've always been a firm believe that having two great receivers is pointless. You'll end up losing one of them anyways.

Having 2 great receivers is a plus, but not necessary. If Kenny is in the lineup (can he stay healthy) then we just need other great role receivers. Hopefully another receiver will step up since he's out. Don't see why it couldn't be Williams or Washington.

hmmm...people are hatin on 12-gage a lot...and i know why but i still think its invalid.

he was never ever supposed to be a #1 reciever, let alone for like 3 or idn how many seasons it was....

fisher had some love for some players, and gage was definitely one. he tried to step up too and often didnt do too bad for a number 2 or even 3 playing against opponents top cbs. i also remember him having the most steady hands (of our past WRs at the time, including Wash who was dropping a lot himself)

im glad washington stepped up this year, and im sure matt has a big part to do with that. so its not fair to compare the 'then-gage' tothe now washington. i mean didnt gage make KFC look good sometimes...thats should speak volumes.

and if anything he was also a good character guy too

(now i said that bout mason in the other thread and was wrong, but again from all my history i never saw anything bad from him so ill say that hoping its true)

now im not saying i want him, im just sayin wat i know

    I agree.

Washington was doing a great job of being the #2 receiver while Britt was playing. But now with him injured he gets more attention and isn't as effective.

It's nice to have two great receivers...but they don't have to be two top receivers in the league to be great.

Britt is/was a top 15 receiver in the league...while he played we had great performances out of Washington (this year) and he is not a top WR.

My only concern is how he looks after coming back from tearing both the ACL and MCL in his knee. I mean, expect him to be noticeably slower next year since those type of things usually take a season to be 100%.

Then again, apparently he's walking around like it's nothing so maybe there's nothing to worry about.

It's interesting to me that he never gets put in that upper echelon of receivers. Because he's definitely on that level. He, imo, is right there with the best in the league. He's just short and white and not freakishly athletic (Megatron) so he doesn't get his mention. Find me a guy who has better production though...

Most people that know football will put Welker in the top 3-5. The reason the media doesn't show him love is because he doesn't produce highlight catches (with the exception of that really long TD in week 1). I'd probably put Welker in the same category as Larry Fitzgerald, who also doesn't seem to get much credit from the media - his salary says otherwise though.
