The best news of the day

Last week was the first time that all 4 AFC South teams lost in the same week.

 

We have a big game coming up this week. Beating Houston would give us a very nice two game lead in the AFC South. Plus a Tiebreaker over the Texans in second place. Who would have thought we'd be playing a big time division game against the Texans in week 7 for a comfortable lead? Not me...

 

This home game against Houston is our biggest game in the last couple years up to this point.Easily our most important game since the playoff loss to Baltimore on Jan. 10,2009.This is not only for the division lead but a good two game lead not to mention it could come in handy also at the end of the season in any tiebreaker situations.

 

Wow. Did not know that. But I was meaning I can't imagine that 0 total wins in 2 weeks happens to any division too often.

 

AFC South is the worst division in the league.

We have a total of 7 wins, the second worst is the NFC West with 8 wins.

This is great news for the Titans because we have a decent chance at winning the Division. It doesn't bold well for our chances once we reach the playoffs though.

I am still sticking by my pre-season prediction of a 9-7 record.

 

This is the first pressure test of the year. We need to win this game. If we lose, it doesn't look good, because then we're down 0-2 in the division and have to go to Houston to win one.

 

Tennessee could not ask for a better scenario than the one we have right now upon us.We have three straight home games in a row all against AFC and two against division rivals.If we can win all three of these games against Houston,Indy and Cincinnati we will be 6-2 and in the drivers seat in our division and most likely near the top of the AFC.

 

I'm sure an entire division losing has been pretty typical for the NFC West.

49ers can go ahead and rest their starters for the playoffs.

@ Gunny, no Manning has not been IR'd yet. Irsay keeps talking about a slim chance (but said around 50%) that Manning could return in December. That's so pointless though. I doubt they let him play. By that point, they'll be so bad and in the Luck sweepstakes. Why all the sudden try to win after you did so well at losing for the first 14-15 weeks of the season?

 

Manning should be able to play a few more seasons. Look what the Packers did with Rodgers. Same situation... to an extent, I suppose. Luck is supposed to be NFL ready, but sitting behind one of the best QBs of all time for a few seasons can't hurt.

It would be great if Luck could be drafted outside this conference altogether, but I think he ends up with the Colts or Dolphins without question. And if the Jags have the #1 pick, don't be surprised if they drafted Luck and trade Gabbert. That would be the smart move.

 

Why the assumption Luck will be so good?

The last QB I remember coming out of the draft with the same accolade of "most NFL ready QB" was Matt Leinart... and he is , arguably, the worst QB of that draft.
