Fixing Chris Johnson

And why is that?? Where are his buddies? Why isn't he out buying beers and wings for that O-Line every Friday night? Has the money isolated him now?

As far as Chris Johnson having fun I think I know one of the reasons.

Look at the way his OWN fan-base talks about him. They talk about his gold teeth, his cars, what he wears at the airport, his income, etc, etc. He's probably sick and tired of his own fans being his biggest enemy. Put your self on his shoes. Would you want thousands of people trying to tell you how you live your life just because they happen to like the team that YOU have been making better for years?

His first bad season and he's getting thrown to the wolves. I understand that some of you fans want another 2000 yard season but it's not gonna happen. It shouldn't have to happen for us to be successful. What we need is an effective run game whether it takes 1 extraordinary back or two backs who compliment each other. There are far fewer Chris Johnson's than there are power backs so maybe we made the right choice. Possibly having two elite backs (one power and one speed) allows a team to game-plan better for opposing defenses. If a team has smaller linebackers you wear them down with your power back. Pair them both in the backfield to offer a dual threat.

As a fan, I understand both sides. For those fans who think CJ simply doesn't care, I think your being shortsighted. There's obviously some issues he's having to deal with. IMO, the more supportive we are as a fan-base, the faster he recovers. Maybe he still is CJ2K but the O-Line is playing terrible and he's not 100%. What I'm saying is that it's in our best interest to support our players.

Repeat. It's in our best interest to support OUR players. That way we build a reputation as a player friendly fan-base and we let our coaches deal with personnel. If our team underperforms we find a new coach.

 

It's has to be a confidence issues or not applying himself in the playbook.... I think he really might not have a full grasp of the offense (and that's all on him of course but at least it's sort of a silver lining).... The effort doesn't look to be there.. maybe that's an illusion because of the other factors. He was such a hungry player I have a tough time believing he has quit... I mean, he has pride right?

 

What everyone really needs to understand is that CJ MUST come out of this funk and the Titans MUST find a way for that to happen (even if benching him does it)... They are absolutely married to him... This is Hugh Hefner marrying a 20 year old centerfold with no pre-nup... divorce is not the option... gonna have to work it out.... So we just as soon get behind him and hope it works out.

I tend to agree that the slams on him that are more personal likely do affect him, BUT, I will also say that I did not see much of any of these types of posts at all UNTIL he held out. I am not defending the personal posts, I am merely pointing out the trend here.

He needs to recognize that his own actions had an impact on this situation as well, own up to it, and start making amends (first by stopping with the silly comments about people not having a clue...he REALLY needs to invest some of his money in a PR consultant who is not afraid to be straight with him, then follow their advice IMO).

I have said this before, but I will say it again....95% of the attacks on him will evaporate when he steps up his game...not to 2K level, but to top RB in the NFL level...which is what he is being paid to do. I agree that alot of this is on the OLine....but as this video points out it is not ALL on the O Line.

The ball is completely in CJ's court on this IMO...he largely contributed to this mess by holding out so long, so he needs to initiate the clean up of the mess.
