Not really. Assuming we're in all of the last four games he's going to get close to 280 carries. If you get over 280 carries and you're worth a damn, you should be able to break 1,000 yards.

I'm happy he's finally producing, but it doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies seeing him gouge bad run defenses and get clobbered against even the most average.

The last month he has had 486 yards on 85 attempts for a 5.7 yard average. He is starting to look more and more like the old CJ, I predict he will wind up around 1300 yards.

CJ will look great the next 4 games, we'll win out and make the playoffs.

We will then meet the raven's in the playoffs, for the first half CJ will be tearing it up, we'll be firmly in the lead looking good. All of a sudden Ed Reed will twist CJ like a pretzel.

The second half starts, CJ is on the bench drinking gatorade and looking miserable, our offense will begin to sputter. We'll hold on to the lead, eventually get into the redzone in hopes to seal the game, when Javon Ringer fumbles the ball, recovered by the Ravens.

The Ravens will go on to score and bring the game within a field goal. We get the ball back, we move into the redzone again, we hit Jared Cook with a crucial third down completion, but he is hit and gives up the fumble.

The Ravens take over, start driving the ball, we get them to a 3rd and 10, the play clock runs out, but the refs don't throw the flag! Flacco throws to Boldin for the game winning touchdown and our dreams of a superbowl are dashed in an instance.

    Waitwut?

So a RB running for 5.5 YPC doesn't give you the warm and fuzzies.
It is obvious CJ is running more in line with how he ran when he ran for 2000 yards. Obviously there is no way to erase his 1st 1/2 start but at least give the guy credit for what he has done of late.

And what "most average" defense has he been clobbered by the last 5 games? The "most average" Falcons who are 3rd in the league in rush defense? It was obvious that game our OL got manhandled. Another team in that 5 game stretch was the Bengals, another "most average" run defense I guess (#6 in the league). Both the Bengals and Falcons are giving up less than 4 yards per attempt to everyone (CJ averaged 4.6 against the Bengals).

Right now the running game seems to be much less of a worry than the passing game. The running game is back. The passing game has dissapeared. The Saints will be an interesting game since they are actually "most average" at 16th in the league but we have to keep the game fairly close or we won't be able to run in the 2nd half if we get too far behind.

Stop saying good things about CJ! That stuff is frowned on around here! Which is interesting considering he plays for the Titans and the users here are supposed to be Titans fans.

At this point in the season, CJ has 20 less yards than Adrian Peterson and the same yards per carry as Arian Foster. The last 5 games have been pretty real good.

Money is CJ's motivating factor now. He stands to lose 300K if he does not reach 1000 yards this season. Chump change to him now since he has a base salary of $13.4M, but 300K still can buy a lot of bling for the teefers!

I like this stat: Johnson thru 12 games has 206 attempts for 852 yards and 4 touchdowns. That's awesome considering how he started the season. But rest assured the only YPC he is worried about is his nearly $16,000 yards per carry average!! Here's one even better, Johnson has made a cool $3,350,000 per rushing touchdown this season, far above his average from season's past! Yep, CJ's back it seems.!

I am glad he is producing and can't wait to see him finish the year strong.

And whoever says a 1,000 yards isn't what it used to be needs to do a little research. I looked back all the way to 1985 and its always 16-17 backs who over go for over 1,000 yards. There are a few years like 2005 where there where like 24 backs who did it, but the average is 16. 1,000 is 1,000, is 1,000 in my book.

I couldn't agree more. With the way he started the season, it looked like he would never hit 1,000. So to make it after such a horrible start is very impressive. It's not the 2K I was hoping for but still very impressive.

Why are we using the last five games as Chris Johnson's season? This is like CJtheBeast's argument that Vince Young was better than Aaron Rodgers for 7 weeks in 2010, it's stupid.

It's Chris Johnson's fault he wasn't in football shape to start the season. It's Chris Johnson's fault he didn't know his offensive coordinator to start the season.

The offensive line was horrible in a lot of games too, but I have a hard time believing this offensive line went from serviceable last year to the absolute worst in the NFL, then got decent again.

I'm not impressed with a guy who signed a record deal being below average for 10 weeks of the season.
