I'm guessing that the Titans organization promised Hasselback that he would start every game the first year of his contract if he signed with the team. That's the only reasoning that makes sense to me.

To be honest, Hasselbeck sounds like hes ready to ride this starting QB gig straight into the ground before he gives it up.

That might be influencing Munchak a little.

It's time to let the kid have the keys. If he's the future it's time to let him go out there and get some valuable experience. Plus it seems like the team responds better with him in the game. He lights a spark and moves the offense down field even with a none existent run game. Imagine Locker with Britt back, a legit TE and a bruiser back to wear down defenses and get those tough yards. I think we'll have a pretty decent offense if this kid continues to grow on what we've sen so far.

    If healthy, he will start.

Of course Hasselbeck starts. Munch will start, and stick with him even though the offense is getting crushed by an 0-16 team. Why wouldn't he start him against Jacksonville?

If he starts Hasselbeck I will never support him.

Even if Hasselbeck does well, it's still a dumb call.

He's riding not only the starting gig into the dirt but he must not care too much that he is driving our playoff shot down into the dust too.

This is different though. Its not like CJ had a 1st round draft pick sitting on the bench behind him. And when Ringer came in, he looked just as bad.

This is what I think will happen. I really thought they would do that this week.

Its basically the same thing they did with Ruud. Just keep saying he is too injured to play, and when it is more than obvious that the rookie is out playing the vet, put the vet on IR.

I don't think they put Hass on IR or anything, but I do think they make it sound like that is the only reason Locker is starting. That way they don't have to admit they made a mistake, but they actually get the best player on the field.

Playoff hopes are pretty much dead, the team seams to perk up when Jake is in!!! Its time to see what we have the last few games!!!

I could support Munch in his decision to start HB if he was 100%. He comes out on the first series and looks crippled for God' saKe. It simply makes no sense to play an old, weak armed QB who is partially crippled. Munch had the perfect scenario to start Jake. He even said if Hass is healthy he would start and obviously he wasn't so he could start Locker and be fully justified and in line with his word (assuming by saying MH starts is healthy I suppose that means he doesn't if not...right, or does it mean as long as MH can hobble out there and take a snap he starts).
