We are 19th in total defense and as Riverman said 23rd against the run. we arde 17th in total offense. We changed our defensive scheme, drafted for and signed a free agent DT primarily to stop the run.

The simple fact is we are no better than in the past if not worse.

Palmer as everybody should recall was Munch's third choice for OC. Callahan was first and Tice was 2nd. We couldn't get them so Palmer was his next choice.

Grey was Munch's number one guy from the beginning. I expected more from this defense.

Duece and like minded dolts have bashed Palmer all year and his 17th ranked offense but gave a pass to Grey and his 19th ranked defense.

I am not sure were you some of you were coming up with 10 wins this year. No body outside Nashville gave us a chance to exscape the cellar of the AFC South. Did anyone pay attention to the past 2 years?

I was a big fan of hiring jerry gray. I thought he would bring us back to the old titans defenses of greg william. He spoke of hybrid looks and early we did some of that the first 4 weeks of the season. Now what we have is the base 4-3, zone coverage, no blitz, no stunts, no adjustments, and the samething we had with cecil to a degree. Yes they have gotten a pass but no more. Zone and that type defense can work but you must have good safeties and ours suck. Very dissapointed.

As far as what the expectations for this team were. THERE IS NOT ONE EXCUSE FOR SUNDAY'S EXCEPT COACHING PERIOD

First off, who cares what media/fans outside of Nashville thought about our chances? We're always written off before the season even begins anyway. And that's not me whining, because I honestly could not care less. But them's just the facts. If we went by national media predictions then we should just be content with 8-8 season after season. Because we're rarely going to get much more credit than that until we prove we deserve it.

Secondly, I can see where you're coming from. But would you not agree that expectations changed drastically along the way?

When we found out Peyton was likely done for the year and the Colts were rolling with KFC/Painter/Orlovsky?

When the Texans lost their best defensive player for the season and their best offensive player for a good chunk of the season?

When they lost their first AND second string QBs?

When the Jags inexplicably cut their starting QB weeks before the season and decided to roll with a rook (who BTW has been one of the worst 1st round rookie QBs I've seen in quite some time)?

When we started the season off 3-1 did expectations not change?

Point being, you can't call your season before it's even began. The bottom line is, rookie HC or not, new QBs or not, this was a year when the division was laid out on a silver platter and we just didn't want it enough. Make no mistake about it, this has been a very Fisher-esque collapse. Once again everything seems to be falling perfectly for us to get in the playoffs but we just can't take care of our own business. I've seen this movie before. And it sucks.

Looking at the power rankings on profootballtalk. They had us at #23 "Annnnnnd now we know why no one took them seriously when they had a winning record." I think this sums it up in a nutshell what the media thinks of the Titans. Sadly, I think they continuously proves them wrong with the inconsistent play.

I'm sorry but that is just BS. If you enter a season believing that you won't even make the playoffs, then why play at all?

We are a pass rusher and an online or two away from being a really good team if Britt can stay on the field next year.

I think the perfect description for this team is "schizophrenic." It's like we're two different teams with two different personalities. On one hand we play well and well enough to beat or come close to beating teams like the Ravens and Saints. On the other hand there's this other team that plays awful, looks like they don't care, and has no emotion and loses to teams like the Colts, who are the worst team in football and the Texans 41-7 in the worst home loss in team history.

The difference in good teams and average teams is finding a way to win the close ones. Look at all the games we should have won this year but didn't, JAX, Cincy, ATL, NO, INDY. If we win just 3 of those 5 we're sitting pretty and well on our way to a playoff berth.

I will say, I expected us to go 8-8 and it looks like that's where we'll end up. I think we're only 4-5 players away from being super competitive. At the moment we have exactly 1 player that scares opposing defenses and they all scheme to stop him. Let's get Jake some weapons to utilize next year and take some pressure off of him and CJ. There are some great WRs in FA this year and the draft. I think if we got an elite pass rusher and a big time play maker with speed in the secondary, and strengthen the interior O-line, we could be a team to fear in the coming years. All is not lost my friends. We're closer than you think. It always feels worse after a loss.

This is the type of attitude that has made this franchise historically mediocre. That's why we need a new coach to inspire this team just like Sean Payton inspired the Saints and saves a team/city on the brink
