payton took less once so the colts could resign players...just a hope since our FO is to dumb to get rid of him and didnt trade him when he had sky high value...instead we give him a huge extension-- and sucked and we have junk trade value for him...which is going to cost us if we try to sign big name free agents if bud opens the wall(which is unlikely anways).

Sign Hardwick. Cut Amano. Let Velasco compete with for the guard spot and see how Scott does with a better center.

That leaves our draft open to get the best S available in the 1st two rounds and draft an OLB or DT to help against the run. We could draft another quality RB in the 3rd to split carries with CJ and we would've addressed all of our needs.

You never know, CJ might not be a greedy guy. I know I'll get "it sucks" for saying that but what he pulled was a business move. His past performance dictated his value. The contract was accurate.

I think CJ was humbled after this season. He could've imploded or given up but he actually ran harder as the season progressed.

Let's not throw our players under the bus too soon.

P.S. The likelehood of CJ doing that is slim to none...just playing God's advocate.

    My ideal offseason:

Fire Chris Palmer/Replace with ANYONE else

    Resign Finnegan, Let Griffin walk

Sign Reggie Wayne/Brandon Lloyd and Robert Mathis via Free Agency

Draft either Safety or Offensive Line in Round 1. Ideally SS Mark Barron 1st round, OL help in the rounds proceeding. (Munchak made it pretty clear they won't go OL in round 1 though)

    Draft/Sign a KR/PR with speed

the OL, apparently, have immunity because MM was their position coach.

I think one of them need tossed under a bus, and Scott is a FA, IIRC, so Jake your poni butt is gone

Why would you want to sign that many receivers? Washington had a better year than Lloyd this year and I honestly don't think we have the cap room to sign that many FA WR's.

Would love to see us sign Mario....every player is an injury risk....he's a perennial 15 sack beast

I love the idea of signing Reggie Wayne. Play him as our #1, Nate #2 and Kenny as our #3. That would be the best WR group in the division for sure.

No way houston lets Mario hit FA. We definitely need to upgrade the DL and OL through FA. S would be nice too. Whatever we don't get in FA, go after through the draft.

Overall I like where we're at and with the right upgrades we can definitely win the division next year.

In my opinion, our biggest needs this offseason are:

    1) Offensive Line - improved line will improve run game

    2) Defensive Line - pash rush is key in the NFL, and we have slacked big time since losing Big Al, V-Bosch, and Babin

    3) Secondary - I like our young corners (however they led the team in tackles, which is definitely abnormal) and we must hold on to Finny, but our safety situation is terrible. I wouldn't mind replacing both Hope and Griffin.

    4) Weakside LB - Ayers and McCarthy have bright futures, but Witherspoon is not our best long term option

    5) Change of pace back / Wide Receiver depth - These positions are not necessities for us right now, they are more like luxuries. I list them here because I am curious to see how a COP back would help CJ, and since this is such a deep WR draft class, it would be foolish not to select a WR in the mid rounds (considering we may have multiple mid round picks, like two thirds)

Basically, we seriously need to upgrade our O-line, Pass Rush, and Safeties
