Mel Kiper re-grades the the Titans 2011 draft class

I wish Scott Wright from draftcountdown was on TV. I agree with him quite a bit. Other than being a big Gabbert and Clausen fan he's usually pretty accurate. Personally, I'm amazed at how many people liked those two. I'm not surprised by the lack of success of either, they both looked crappy.

 

If you can't give him a grade for his limited play you definately can't knock the draft class then either. Locker played well when he did get out there and the rest of the class was.

Locker wasn't a negative to the draft class this year if we're looking back right now. He showed a lot when asked.

 

Like taking a sack when the game was on the line? - I'm all for Lockers potential and thinks he can be a great NFL QB, but we haven't seen anything yet.

Your first round pick means a whole lot when you have to grade your draft.

Like when you think of the 2005 49ers draft, you think Alex Smith and bust.
But they got RB Frank Gore the same year. But that's not your first impression.

 

I wish I could still consider Alex Smith a bust. The guy has done well this season. They really have a good coach in Harbaugh. I haven't seen a team go from being in the depths of hell to Super Bowl contenders in a LONG time. It's coaching, plain and simple.

 

Sure. In his 7th season he's no longer considered a bust, like he was the previous 6. He has done well this season, by not making turnovers. And the 49ers took a QB in the 2nd round. That's not showing big faith.

 

Alex Smith is a bust, what has he done? Good job not turning the ball over so much but hey just hand it off to Gore and rely on the top defense?

 

Alex Smith is definitely a bust. You don't use the first pick in the draft on a guy who eventually turns in to a game manager in his seventh season.

 

He wasn't a game manager yesterday.

 

And the other 16 games this season he was.

I fully expect him "Tommy Maddox" next season.

 

Umm Alex Smith has played some fantastic football this season. I would have no problem removing the bust label from his name.
