How is he going to build chemistry with the team, without practice snap.

I'd have to think that if Peyton joins the Titans with the speculation of a front office job in the future, he'd be stupid not to help develop Locker. He saw what just happened with his own team not having a solid QB to take the reigns - complete rebuilding mode. I think that Manning would think of things more long term if he had the guarantee of running this franchise.

Let's see, Sorgi, Painter, Locker. One of these things is not like the others...

You can't teach talent. Were those stiffs even drafted?

Good point. Hadn't thought of that.

this is effin awesome, especially since we'll prob. get Mario if we don't get peyton. I'm not really worried about Locker, lets not forget if we do sign Manning, its still possible for him to get reinjured, which leads to Locker being on the field, this can either be a path to the superbowl, or a fasttrack to Locker being our starter, either way I'm stoked, finally the titans are a player in the FA

See, my problem with your reasoning is we are already doing exactly what you say we should do, while also pursuing Manning. We've had a guard and center in to visit already and have another center visiting tomorrow. It's not like we dropped everything to just chase Manning. We haven't put anybody on hold. It is possible to chase Manning AND other free agents, and we have. On top of that, if the reports are true that Mario Williams is waiting to see what Manning does, then we have obviously been in contact with Mario, too.

And Carr obviously got way more salary than we felt he was worth, just like Finnegan. He was just out of the ball park.

I'd say officially The Switch has flipped. Not just about some of our own changing their minds at the 11th hour, lol, but more astounding is the Titans commitment to sell out to the offense.

Whether or not Manning gets signed, that's an amazing thing.

I have been a Manning hater for as long as I can remember. But, I am also starting to realize what he could do for us in terms of getting us on the map and making our team better. Here's the thing though, I know we don't have to care about what Hasselbeck thinks about this whole situation because he obviously sucked it up at the end of our season last year and is definitely not worth the trouble. But...what about Locker? It looked like he was ready to go after what we saw last year...are we going to have to wait 2-4 more years if Manning comes in and takes over? What if he doesn't take us to the Superbowl? What if he just gets us into the playoffs at best and we choke in the first round like we've done already? Will it have been worth it to go all those years without seeing what Locker could have done (assuming Peyton doesn't get reinjured)?

I find it interesting that people don't see it as a possible drawback that he could be "running" this team in the future. Most former players are terrible in the front office/ownership.
