I dont think Munch will bench locker for an inferior Hass this year.

All Locker has to do, is play better than Hass before the season starts.

we'll see how it plays out...

I'm going to predict that Hasselbeck is pretty mediocre in preseason, while locker impresses, but Hass still gets the nod week 1.

The real question isn't; can Hasselbeck win a Super Bowl, it's far too early to be thinking super bowl. But; can he win us 4 consecutive games....

The answer last year was no, but 2012 is a new year, and his 2nd in TN. Maybe he can win 4 games in a row, that's really all it takes. We've seen plenty of wildcard teams over the years win the Super Bowl. We don't need a 12-4 record to win it all, just gotta qualify and when we do, we gotta know that we can win those 4 games in the post season.
Hasselbeck does give us a shot at that.

I personally prefer Locker, but have no beef with Hass.

I think this is actually a good thing...

I think Manning would have been a huge distraction... Looking forwards to seeing Jake learn under Matt if Jake doesn't win the #1 job but I have a pretty good feeling it is going to be Jakes to loose.

    GO Titans!!!

First of all your introduction ... Seriously. You sound like the 12 yo kid on here. Have you ever been able to have a discussion with somebody who has a different point of view than you without attacking them, just using your opinion to make a valid argument? Probably not because that is what a mature adult would do ... you'll grow up one day.

    Now to the actuall disucssion.

    1. If Hasselbeck was in the tops of the league until Britt gets hurt, then he is no longer in the tops of the league, would that not point to Britt being the main reason he was tops in the league? Britt was in full on beast mode. Nobody could stop him. Between teams stacking the box to stop CJ and Britt opening it up for the other recievers Rusty smith could've put up some decent games. Good Qbs can put up very good games when they are surrounded by talent. Great Qbs make the talent around them better. Which category do you think Hass falls into?

    2. ANY NFL coach?? If that were the case then the Colts would not have dropped Manning to move on with Luck (presumably). And in case you are not aware, Locker is no longer a rookie.

    3. Ok if getting injured is doing something to lose your job. Also I don't think Hass was very far from losing his job either. They were ready to pull him after that horrific game he played against the colts. They gave him another shot, and he played much better, there fore kept his job. Had he played another game like that I think Locker would've been put in. I also think after last year with VY/KFC/Rusty drama Munch really just wanted to keep some stability at the position.

    4. Because Hass played some pretty bad football down the stretch. Why stick with a old qb who dinks and dunks, and goes 3 and out almost every drive for an entire half mulitple games in a row when you have a very talented QB of the future who would gain a lot from getting some PT under his belt.

And if you think Hass is a more talented QB, you are just flat out blind. He has more experience, but Jake has all the talent

    1. He still had 3,500 yards at season's end. Still mediocre to you I guess. I mean, I'm sure Jake Locker would have passed for that many his rookie year.

    2. Yes. Any coach will stick by playing a guy that's playing well over some unproven rookie that's shown a few "flashes"... and that's all Locker showed. A few flashes.

    3. I'm not saying Locker shouldn't start. We'll see. As of now, it's Hass' job to lose.

    4. Probably because we were still in the playoff hunt and playing a rookie QB that can't seem to complete half his passes would be a pretty risky move to make.

    5. Talent? Vince Young is more talented than both of them. So? Talent means nothing without the structure. And right now Jake lacks structure. He has to learn to throw from the pocket, stay in the pocket, not throw to the other team, etc. Once he does that, I'm sure he'll be fine.

Munch isn't Fisher. He was for most of the season but he plain out said our interior offensive line is bad and we signed Hutch, looked at Wells/Myers and hopefully will still find help with the scraps left in FA.

I appreciate what Hass did for us last, but at the end of the season he was just horrible. We have to let Jake get his shot now to see if he really our QB of the future. It's Locker Time baby!
