Hey, I'm right there with you, I wont even look at a players combine numbers unless he showed up on the field, but several NFL GM's will tell you they wont think about taking a guy in the 1st without good workout numbers.

 

Which is why guys like Jamarcus Russell and Chris Henry get drafted.


It's the equivalent of asking a potential employee to come in and see how well he navigates a computer instead of checking his job history.

So anyone that tells me "GMs know what they're doing, because they're getting paid and you're not" I can only laugh.

 

Brown comes in in obvious pass situations and allows Ayers to put his hand down and rush the passer.

 

Again dude, I'm with you. I say it almost every day that the NFL employs a ton of idiots. I'd say it more but there's always that guy that asks me why I'm not running a team.

 

Teams like the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins employ idiots in their front office. Tennessee doesn't have a problem when it comes to that. Bud Adams is an idiot, but he pays for it all; that's why we missed out on some key free agents this offseason, not our FO. I'd say they did an admirable job given the circumstances.

 

Because if you look, it is always family or someone "in the know" that gets you in. Very rarely does someone come out of nowhere and makes any sort of coaching impact on a team.

You know, I was probably too hard on Zach Brown when I said he has Chris Henry written all over him. CH was a workout warrior without any real production in college. I'd like to change that comment to he has Ben Troupe written all over him.

 

I'm gonna stop reading the articles on Zach Brown. So many analysts are knocking this guy, claiming he's scared of contact. I don't think that's his problem at all, I think he's just too damn fast, needs to slow down, wrap up and pick his head up. That's all he does wrong, tries to blow up the ball carrier too much.
