Hasselbeck put up the most passing yards this team has seen in about a decade and the fourth most in franchise history for a season. Lets not belittle what they guy did because he faded towards the end of the season.

The way I see it, Hasselbeck has been to a SuperBowl, and could possibly take us to another one.

Everyone keeps saying how Locker has a full off-season to get dialed in... well, so does Matt.

He's not as bad as everyone who keeps trashing is making him out to be. Remember, last years stats were also with coming in to a new team, new playbook, new everything also without an offseason.

I am all for seeing Locker take over as well, but I seriously don't believe it's going to be as such a one-sided competition as everyone is making it out to be.

You don't play as long as Hass has, and been as succesful by sucking.

Hass did pretty well up until Britt went down. Luckily Washington really stepped up or we may have had the season we all really expected.

    I think it's very simple.

This could be a very explosive offense. I don't believe it will be with Hass. I could very well be wrong, but last season I strictly remember dink and dunk Matt. Not down field threat that this offense is built to be (considering that is how it appears)

Nothing against hass, but if it's even close in camp, I think you start the live fire test for locker. He WILL make mistakes. He WILL look like a rookie at times... But I also believe he will produce some spectacular plays with his deep field vision. Plus it gives him experience to grow.

We will not be in the play off this year with either QB unless Locker completely blows everyone's mind and looks like Tom Brady out there...

Hass? Everyone has already said he was hobbled late in the year... Why does anyone think this year won't be the same. He's old.

If locker sucks it up in camp... Then we are ******

Better chance of this offense being explosive with Hass than with a first year starter.

And saying he was hobbled at the end of the year means little, because Locker was as well... and barely played.

I'm sure someone in New England was saying the same things about Bledsoe over Brady.

(I'm on record as saying Locker has to win the job, it should not be given to him)

I bet most of the anti-Hass sentiment would not be here if the rungame worked last year.

Does anyone have ESPN insider? I saw that Mel Kiper wrote an article about rookies from 2011 he thinks will have a breakout year in 2012 and Locker was in the headline. Can anyone copy/past that here so we can read it?

I think Hasselbeck would do well if he started BUT why let Locker sit back a whole year again? It would be good for him to get out there and start developing chemistry with the offense.I think it would be wise to let him loose from the very start of the season.Wright could end up being Locker's main target for many years to come and it wouldn't hurt to see what CJ could do with Locker running the offense. For better or worse why not go ahead now and get this thing started.I would love for Matt to stay here and be our number two for a few seasons and retire here.
