What proof do you have of "better upside"? The fact Dalton had a better college career? Or Locker's very limited playing time in the NFL, where 2 of the games he played in the defense was nursing a sizeable lead?

I was a fan of Locker's coming out of college and I wanted us to draft him the entire time leading up to the draft that year but in no way can you honestly tell me that he impressed you more than Dalton last year. Dalton took the Bengals to the post season with a 9-7 record as a rookie QB with no off-season. Dalton is a legit QB and if the Bengals keep building this team like they are I can defiantly see them becoming perennial contenders.

After Locker takes over the starting job let's look back at this thread.

Why? Every single one of us hopes he's the guy.

Some of us are ready to see him start Week 1. That's the difference.

It will be fun to look back at after Locker leads us to a title.

Eli, Moon, Favre, Big Ben, Steve McNair, hell even Elway all had known accuracy issues...they turned out just fine

And I doubt any one of them actually had 'accuracy issues' to begin with.
Its believed by many coaches that accuracy is innate.
And in my estimation by the time a QB makes it to the NFL 'inaccurate' QBs have long since been weeded out.
Imo if you take an NFL QB and ask them to hit target X at spot X at distance X they can do it.
And imo that is the defintion of accuracy can you hit what you aim at; and imo NFL QBs can most certainly hit what they aim at.

However knowing where to aim comes with experience and continuity within the offense and with the personnel.

I've seen far too much of Jake Locker to buy that he has accuracy issues.
