This is MJD's last chance for a big payday in his life. That's what sucks about being a football player. If you're an actor, you can have a revival in your 40s. Not gonna happen for football. In most cases, by around 30, your moneymaking potential is almost gone.

A football player's celebrity status is very short lived most of the time, unless you're a legend. Remember a few years ago when Merriman was dating and beating up Tila Tequila? No way he's going to be dating a celebrity now. If lucky, a "good" football player will have 5 years of celebrity status. You have to make that NFL moneylast for the rest of your life. And once you're used to living the high life, you don't want to come back down.

That's exactly what I wanted to do. No hindsight; nothing. I said from the get go... let him rot. He would've come back at some point. He still would've sucked, but at least we wouldn't have blown money on him and he would lose a lot of bargaining room. We'd be a lot richer right now.

 

Loved watching MJD against the Colts. Last year he surpassed 6000 career yards. More than 1000 of those yards came against Indianapolis.
