I agree. While his base pay is only 4.5 and 5.0 mil the next two years he got a 9 mil signing bonus in 2009. It also doesn't make sense to extend him more than the two years left on his deal even if they were to toss a few more mil into his base because of his age.

I find it odd that an All-Pro would want to stay in Jacksonville. Why tie yourself to that franchise by holding out in hopes of an extension? Run away when your contract expires, you dont want to be Fred Taylor do you?

I understand what your saying, but CJ's contract isn't hurting us right now. We've got plenty of cap room. And you never know, CJ might impress us once again this season. And with the change in offensive philosophy, he might last longer than under Jeff Fisher.

He is under contract for two more years. Not sure what he will have left after two years but I suppose he could pull a Corey Dillon and sign with a team like the Pats and have a chance at a championshiop that way.

From his perspective he is just trying to milk as much money out as he can after coming off a solid year and probably not having this much leverage again.

If I'm the Jags I look to trade him and turn the tables on him. He won't have any control of where he goes then. At least if the Jags put feelers out there they might have an idea of what they can get for him.

If I was in his shoes, I'd welcome a trade anywhere. The Jaguars are going nowhere, well maybe to Los Angeles LOL, but maybe thats what he wants. He did play at UCLA after all.

Yeah, I was gonna say, about the only place he could go that would be worse is Cleveland, and they just drafted Richardson, so the Jags don't really have much of a threat over his head there.

As much as I don't like Jones-Drew (mainly cause he's really good and not a Titan), I wouldn't wish the Cleveland Browns on him, he doesn't deserve that.

The only knock I have on MJD is that he's a jag. Dude has been a baller. BUT I don't feel bad for him though because he chose to re-sign there. He should have bolted the first chance he got.
