What will be the fate of both these backs?

will they both stay or will one of them end up getting cut.....

I think Ringer should be the one being cut. Keep Harper,Renauld and Q.Johnson along with CJ

I'd be very surprised if Ringer or Harper get cut. It's not necessary in order to keep Reynaud since Mariani is out.

From what I see, Reynaud is a shiftier 3rd down back option with better hands than Ringer.. and isn't that supposed to be Ringer's role?? Only question in my mind is if Reynaud's blocking ability. Have not seen or read enough on that topic to tell if he is truly a solid option in that area. If I were the front office I'd try and trade Ringer for a pick next year. Question on my mind at the game last night ... did Ringer start just to rest CJ, or was it attempt to showcase him as tradebait?

Neither back did anything this preseason to to guarantee them anything and i wish people would stop bringing up this moronic idea up that Ringer is trade-bait. Backs like him are a dime a dozen there would be no reason to trade for him.

The issue is at WR, do we cut one of these backs and go acquire another WR or do we keep an extra back. I see no reason to have 4 Rb on the roster.

Harper had a chance on a short yardage play in the next to last preseason game and went down like a girl. Ringer had a nice hole last night and instead of hitting it hard he started to dance and got little.

A case could be made to cut both of them and look on the waiver wire for somebody who is hungry and can play special teams.

Partially agree. When news breaks that Lions are calling offices to find RBs. I think it is a valid point to ask "Do we/Can we trade Ringer".

I think their very well could be better talent out their on the market at RB position. Thing is that they will have to learn a new system which isn't easy. My guess is that we keep both of them and then if we find a real power RB then we drop one of them. I think Harper showed more this preseason, but it was always against 3rd teamers. He is not a power back though. Even on the 3rd and short last night instead of pounding it into the hole he was looking to bounce it outside which he did for a nice gain. I want a guy that will lay the wood to a defender. Ringer does nothing great, but is a solid player. Like I said I think we keep them both and if we need a roster spot then one of them is gone.

Ringer was playing in the 4th q last night with the scrubs. He is gone imo.

Harper looks way too heavy to me. I understand that he is our 'big back" but no skill position in the NFL should have a belly like that. He clearly didnt learn from Lenwhale's fate

Ringer hasn't been great but neither has Harper; I think both will be gone after this season. Reynaud is obviously our #2 HB and should get on the field to spell Johnson on passing downs. I'd love to pick up a HB for goal line situations though.
