Oh as far as the coaches go, there's no excuse for them in any way, shape, or form!! They were warned of the rumors of this stuff floating around and told there would be an investigation into it. They not only told the coaches and players to lie to the NFL when asked about it, they kept doing it!!!

I agree that Goodell sucks. He has been out of line with some thungs he's done. I also think the Saints having bounties on opposing players and there coaches talking about taking out peoples ACL's and hitting them in the head on purpose after a concussion sucks much worse. Absolutely disgusting behavior imo.

I am not a huge fan of Goodell, but this is a major blow to the league. I mean, they had recorded evidence. If that was not damning enough, I don't know what is. The NFLPA just failed to protect its own people.

    I'd say that's quite accurate.

They had recordings. But what, exactly, is on those recordings? That's the question.

They should be focused on the nonsensical fines he hands out every 10 minutes for hard hits. I would like to see the money trail for those fines. I would also like to know the scale used to determine the penalty. I'm sure it consists of his hand entering his rectum and pulling out a number.

Not sure which fines you're talking about. If you are suggesting that players like James Harrison who launch themselves as hard as they possibly can at their opponents helmets while leading with their own helmet shouldn't be fined or disciplined, I completely disagree with you. If you are mentioning other non-intentional hits that were fined, I'd have to see them.

The league keeps saying they have 500 pages of evidence.... BUT they have never come forth with anything. It is known that 2 of the people who are witnesses have a bone to pick with the Saints organization.

Something doesn't pass the smell test with Goodall & the League

The people who need to see the evidence has seen it. Do you really think they are going to publish a book with that crap for everyone to see?

    Talk about "tarnishing the image."

All the fans who talk about the "proof not being shown," think about it a little bit.

We have a civil court system in this country to insure against unfair labor practices. This isn't a union issue. Vilma and others suffered severe financial damages at the hand of their employer. You simply can't damage an employee without due process occurring. Having punishment occur without full disclosure to an employee is an illegal practice that is protected by our civil legal system. That is it was a unanimous decision.

My contention with Goodell has ALWAYS been that he conducts NFL player affairs with disregard for fair labor practices. The courts agree in this case. It's about effin time a player he was called to the mat. I don't know anything about Vilma personally- he may well be a turd or he may be completely innocent. That is irrelevant to the issue. Goodell must be fair to his employee interests- ESPECIALLY when he imposes punishment with severe financial damage.
