38-3 Chargers win. Homer pick.... because of the home opener and retiring junior seau's number 55. More realistically... 34-13 Chargers win. I base this on the fact that the Chargers offense is a top tier offense. EVERY year since Norv Turner has been coach (2007) the chargers have been top 5 in the NFL in offense. Also, Ryan Matthews is back and he is head and shoulders better than the other backs on the team. The Chargers receiving core is better this year. Yes we lost vincent jackson but we added Robert Meachem Eddie Royal and Michael Spurlock for the money that would have been spent on jackson. So far so good. The offense is faster. The Chargers had to kick fg's last week more so from things like the lights getting in gates eyes during a td catch and rivers missing a throw he makes 99 out of 100 to floyd. Other than that the Chargers offense moved very well in the air. The running game was awful only getting 32 yards with backups.

The real difference in this years chargers team is the defense. WATCH melvin Ingram the rookie is a pro bowl caliber player ALREADY. Add Jarret Johnson from the ravens defense with shaun phillips and other recent 1st rounders like corey liuget and larry english and the Chargers may now have a top tier defense. The secondary is good with all pro safety eric weddle, And 1st rounders antoine cason and quentin jammer playing solid. The chargers appear to be coming after the qb more this year but it's not quite a finished product yet. They did get 5 sacks last week but there are times where plays can be made down the field with solid qb play. In the end I just don't see the titans keeping up with the chargers offense and I also see the chargers creating more turnovers along the way to victory

No way. The Chargers didn't look bad? They just didn't score TD's when they normally would have. 1 or 2 more red zone tds and it was a blowout. As it was the Chargers were content with ensuring victory. the raiders scored a garbage time td otherwise its 22 to 6. The Chargers looked MUCH better than the titans... consider the titans starting RB played and got 4 yards...the pats aren't that good on defense... don't believe the east coast hype machine... NO defense is that good. BUT your RB for whatever reason isn't playing his best and playing a Chargers team that just shutdown a healthy darren mcfadden who is a stronger version of chris johnson isn't a good thing.

It's really messed up that ryan matthews got hurt because I was sure he was going to lead the NFL in rushing this year. The guy is in the best shape of his career and the titans may be the 1st team to see it firsthand.

No offense is meant. But when I looked at the schedule and saw the titans week 2 home opener... i penciled in win... because the chargers are just head n shoulders better than the titans with hassleback or locker at QB. Does anyone here REALLY think either of these qb's will win a shootout with Rivers n the Chargers? Gates isn't old or slow in fact he's in the best shape he's been in in 5 years. Did you SEE some of the catches he made against the raiders? Sure he lost 1 in the lights but big deal.... he made a beast 1 hand catch and also a great catch just throwing it up 1 on 1. NOONE can cover gates... not champ bailey, john lynch, nmandi asomugha, ray lewis and a host of others that gates has roasted. Gates may have 3 tds this week.

I really think that you are over estimating your team, you guys are notorious slow starters and I doubt you see such a one sided Titans offense this week.

Calling a rookie a pro bowler is a stretch

Most people would, I see why you and the fans there would be confident

No one knows what we have in Locker yet but he has shown a lot of promise. Many rookie QB's have done well early

Well, 8 teams won a "shootout" with Rivers last season. Its not about winning a shootout, its about beating the other team.

Last season you scored 20 or less points 6 times. So yea, if you have one of those games, its entirely possible we can score 21.

He had 7 TD's all last season, 3 TD's is a bit of a stretch.

I can see why the Chargers are favored, I also think that you guys will come out ahead, however lets not get carried away.

    At least you admit it.

I really don't see how you can say the Chargers are "head n shoulders better" than the Titans. From a talent standpoint, I think we're actually pretty close. And no offense meant, but your team has a history of underachieving and blowing games they were supposed to win.

Bottom line... anything can happen on Sundays. I can see it being a blowout in favor of the Chargers. I can see a blowout in favor of the Titans. I can see it being a close game.

IF the Raiders had a back up long snapper they beat the chargers! Reynaud is going to return a kickoff or a punt back in this game and the titans are going to win 24 to 20. I think Jammer is out and gates hobbled and matthews out the chargers have less playmakers than the titans. Cook is going to have a big day
