Some facts about the game which are not pretty:

The Titans haven't won vs. the Chargers since 1992 (0-8). They haven't won in San Diego since 1990.

Their last game was 2010 when they lost 33-25, a game they led 19-14 at the half. The Chargers had 456 yards of offense, 12 of 18 with third down conversions (67%), and they held the ball for 15 minutes longer than the Titans.

Looking for a silver lining, Gates may be limited Sunday though he's expected to play. Personally, I have less confidence this Sunday than I did against the Pats but maybe the Titans will bounce back like they did after their first loss last season.

really? i have more confident than the Pats..... i've personally witnessed a ton of streak-killers in my lifetime and wouldn't be surprised if we won...

i'm not too worried about Gates... i'm more worried about ripping my ears out with Dan Fouts announcing.... this dude is a Chargers lover and Titans hater...

New coaching staff, and the Bolts looked mediocre against a Raiders team that begged them to win. I am fairly confident about this game.

I'm a lot more confident that we have a chance against the Chargers than the Pats. I was expecting the result we saw against the Pats. I'm expecting a close game against the Chargers. If we lose this, we may well go 0-6 to start the season.

In my opinion, this is the game that decides whether the Titans will compete for a wildcard spot or not. If we can't get a win (or at least keep it close to the end) against an aging, beat up Chargers team - we'll get clobbered by Detroit, Houston and Pittsburgh. Minnesota is an away game I also wouldn't look past either.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm really down on this team right now. I don't have a lot of faith going in to this game. I think Rivers will have all day to throw and will really miss Mccarthy, especially in TE coverage where Witherspoon is awful. We drafted Brown for his speed and ability in coverage, but is he really ready to take on Gates? He may get the chance since he'll be starting this game. We also won't be able to run the ball at all, the Chargers have a very good front 7 that dominated Mcfadden. Ryan Matthews may be back as well.

God I hope the Titans prove me wrong and get a win; Losses REALLY frustrate me.

Yeah I'm definitely more confident about this game. Even with no McCarthy and banged up Locker. The good thing about long drought/streaks? They have to end some time.

    Keys to the game:
    - Banged up or not, we can't let Antonio Gates run free all over the field like we do with most TEs. I don't fear their run game. And I don't fear their WR group. I fear Antonio Gates. Even a hobbled Antonio Gates.
    - Titans run game has to be at least serviceable.
    - Jake has to take care of the football.

Honestly, I think that's it. If we can keep Gates from exploding I think our defense will be just fine. I believe we're the more talented team. But we likely won't come out with the W if we have to be completely one-dimensional again and pick up all of our yards through the air.

A fast paced offense would help the Titans.

Since San Diego won last week, they should lose this week, thats just how they operate.

Gates looks slower this year and it's September, we got this.

I'm gonna stay positive on Gameday this week, but for now we are going to be terrible at WR. I doubt Nate plays more than 5 snaps if he even plays. Britt wont get much work so that leaves a Rookie and the sucks face Damian and Hawkins. Damian and Hawkins are gonna kill us big time. Damian cannot get separation and Hawkins cant find his route. I hope Britt,Cook and Wright can do enough to put up 25 points.

the chargers 3rd string corner is out.... other than that the titans will see a healthy bolts team. Gates injury isn't that bad he practiced the last 2 days as did matthews.
