He knew he had no chance at that catch. Hell... if it was perfect he couldn't catch it anyway because he sucks.

Anyone that's played receiver from jr high and up knows you don't assist the D with an interception. He did the opposite of what he was supposed to.

I'm telling you the "don't tip a ball" stuff is network commentator BS. You try to catch the ball if it's thrown behind you. Period. If it's a zone - there's more than likely a guy waiting to pick that bad throw off. You're just repeating what you hear from those guys.

    Again, give it up.

There is more than likely a guy waiting. Which is why you dont tip it directly in the air.

Growing up playing DB and WR- that's pop warner, son.

So you let it fly past you into his hands? Great logic.

Don't ever coach pop warner - "son." Your kids would be crying themselves to sleep every night.

You're almost as clueless as TitansWillWin. It's close.

Instinct. Anyone in that position would have tipped it.

    Nope.

You see it all the time, a player will reach- but if they know they have no chance but to merely tip it up for grabs, they'll pull their hand away.

Simple awareness. Football IQ. Some players (and posters) simply don't have it.

He was DE last year, he doesn't have those instincts.

Just looked at it again, it wasn't impossible to catch, and it looks like Manning had a chance at the pick regardless if Thompson tips it or not...unless Thompson has the awareness to intentionally slap it down, but in that position, you won't see often at all.

NO excuses for Hasselbeck that play. It was a horrible pass, well behind the receiver. As a receiver, you ALWAYS make an attempt at catching it. I am generally a defender of Hasselbeck, and think he should have started the season.. but that was a horrible pass, and it deserved to be intercepted. Thompson was attempting to make a heroic catch to bail out that POOR throw. I can Never fault a receiver for making an attempt to catch a ball that is thrown to them, no matter how terrible of a pass it was. It was HORRIBLE.

hahahahahah ... all this hate on Hass is HILARIOUS!!!! Where was this in the offseason. The things a lot of you are saying now is exactly what you are attacking me (and about 3 others) for saying all offseason. I guess maybe you really did forget how bad he looked at the end of last year and needed a refesher ...

But seriously, hopefully with Britt back Hass will be able to win us some games. We will need CJ to continue doing what he did last week as well
