An example of an unfairly compensated player....

Last year, Saints running back Reggie Bush reportedly wasn’t inclined to reduce his $8 million base salary in the wake of a Super Bowl season. And the Saints opted to pay him that much money for 2010. Bush suffered a fractured fibula after muffing a punt in Week Two against the 49ers, and he ultimately appeared in only eight games. He rushed for 150 yards and generated 208 receiving.

That’ $22,346.36 for each yard from scrimmage.

I know this may be somewhat of an exceptional case...but the point is made.

that will be significant; the owners are pushing for still receiving the payment

when though the commissioner is saying "the two could reach a deal in time if they'd sit down and work on it" and the NFLPA is still telling the players to save their money because of how confident they are in what's going to happen....those aren't good signs...at all

The owners are pretty much of the opinion that the fans will just come flocking back once the league begins again; have been since about May

Yeah, the baseball owners were of that opinion also. Has baseball recovered yet? And then there's hockey, which with the lockout year and all the ridiculous rules they put in place, the fan base is just now beginning to grow again. The thing is, the owners don't really care who loses money. They are willing to lose a little in order to gain a lot. The fact that others involved may lose much more and never gain it back is irrelevant to them. That is how it goes when one has more money than some countries. But when people see that they can live without something, it loses some or all of it's appeal. So they best beware, especially those who own non performing teams, which is about half of them at this point.

can't until a new CBA is in place

that said, he's still under contract for the next 2 seasons played, so don't panic like he's going somewhere
