Since 1998... SEC has had 13 teams represent the conference in the national championship game... just saying, no other conference is even close, so when you talk strength of schedule ya might want to remember that.

Only team not in the SEC to be beat an SEC team in the national title game during that span?

Dude... I'm an FSU fan (my 4th team) but my point remains... no conference is even close. This poll is an example of unearned love for OSU by writers who always over rate them in the first place, year in, year out. As a GA fan, even I recognize Bama should without a doubt be 1 in this poll. FSU and Clemson are the ONLY 2 teams IMO who could compete week in week out in the SEC from the ACC. I'm sure mentioning Clemson stings a bit but it is truth as I see it.

This seems about right considering it's basically all about consistency. FSU gets a major bump because they started later than most and had the Bowden era. Bama being at #4 because they've had the biggest high and the lowest lows when it comes to the blue bloods of college football.

Also, this is only AP. So these rankings hurt the programs that won a lot before the AP rankings were weighted more heavily.

I'm not sure i care where my team finishes in such a poll as long as they are #1:banjump:. Only one team had God as their head coach.

Army was once a powerhouse in the 40s does that matter?

I would rate FSU and Miami higher based on what they did in the 80s and 90s and might drop Michigan a bit. Michigan never won a national championship under the coach who won the most games.

Bo Schembechler's record in rose bowl games was 2-8!

Of course we're talking about teams and someone has to start talking conferences because their team sucks.

Funny... might want to actually read the posts. Please notice I pointed out Bama from the get go, EVEN as a GA fan. Pointed out a simple fact about the conference as a whole. Who exactly does the Big 93 have other than OSU again? A conference who has ONE lead dog only knows one view point if ya catch my drift. Understanding that Bama has done what it's done with the talent they face every year vs what OSU faces every year... pretty simple equation, Bama faces better competition on a regular basis. They deserved the 1 slot in this poll. As I said earlier, every year the writers fall in love with OSU before the season begins. 13 national titles vs 6 undisputed national titles and 2 disputed... just saying.

Again, you're talking about conference... I couldn't care less.

Other conferences hate the teams in it- they don't piggy-back off of them.

But since you asked: Penn State (better than your squad), Michigan (better than your squad), Nebraska (as good as your squad), Wisconsin (as good as your squad) Michigan State (better than your squad).

    And sorry- No.

Outside of Georgia and Auburn, Alabama has had a cake schedule for the past decade. Playing 2 tough teams a season and playing high schools for your OOC opponents is hardly a feat. Most schools do this every season.
