Sargo127 signature reads "PLEASE DRAFT A WR AND QB IN THE FIRST TWO ROUNDS!!" I wonder if he realizes that we don't have a 2nd round pick. Also why the heck do we need a WR we need other positions before a WR.

    Eh

Before I do anything I want to see how Vince does if given the shot. I really don't see us spending a 1st round pick on another wide out. Maybe another beast of a defensive tackle, or a corner. I thinking we have been needs a replacement for Harper for a while now.

Speaking of which - Pac-Man is still on the market!! Lets grab him up and see what he can do for us! :trophy:

Tebow, no. Absolutely not, unless we get him later.

The team does not need a project player at QB. They need a passer who is ready to play. We don't have the luxury of taking someone like Tebow and letting him mature, if he ever will, into a good NFL QB.

I don't care who we get, in whatever round, but I hope to God it's not another VY, trying to break the mold on what a QB is. Don't try to reinvent the wheel, just get a good player.

Here's the thing about McCoy and Tebow. People try to fool themselves into thinking guys like Alex Smith, Vince Young, Joey Harrington, Rex Grossman, Andre Ware, Colt Brennan, and Graham Harrell could make it in the NFL because a guy that good in college SURELY might translate to the pros. It just doesn't. Guys who run those kinds of offenses don't succeed in the NFL. McCoy and Tebow run those kinds of offenses.

It's still early in the season but it is looking more and more likely that we will have a top 5 selection in the upcoming draft. I think we are really regretting giving up a high 2nd round pick at this point to the Patriots. Anyways, among different positions that we could target there are a number of guys I would be happy with:

QB - Jake Locker - probably won't be there if we aren't drafting 1st but is the best NFL prospect IMO
DB - Eric Berry - comparable to Ed Reed and who wouldn't take him with this pick? Monte Kiffin said he should be the #1 overall pick
DT - Ndamukong Suh - flat out a beast and can take on double teams like Albert could
DE - Carlos Dunlap - nice combination of speed and strength and definietly a need for us
LB - Brandon Spikes/Rolando McLain - both of these guys are legitimate ball hawks and would improve our aging LB core

That said we will probably draft McCoy since he went to Texas and Bud Adams is our owner...

Who'd thunk I needed to open up the 2010 NFL Draft forum before November?
