For fun, predict next year's starters.

I'm going to try and be realistic with draft picks and free agency. Changes in bold.

    QB: Locker
    RB: CJ
    WR: Britt
    WR: Nate Washington
    WR: Kendall Wright
    TE: Craig Stevens
    OT: Roos
    OT: Stewart
    OG: Hutchinson
OG: DALLAS THOMAS UT 2nd round pick
C: TRAVIS FREDERICK Wisconsin 3rd round pick

    DE: Kamerion Wimbley
DE: OSI UMENYIORA Free Agent acquisition
    DT: Mike Martin
DT: KEVIN WILLIAMS Free Agent acquisition
    OLB: Akeem Ayers
MLB: MANTI TE-O Notre Dame 1st round pick
    OLB: Zach Brown
    CB: Jason McCourty
CB: DOMONIQUE RODGERS-CROMARTIE Free Agent acquisition
    FS: Michael Griffin
SS: WILL ALLEN (steelers) Free Agent acquisition

    K: Bironis
    P: Kern
    Returner: Reynaud

Big money on 3 name defense free agent acquisitions. 3 rookies starting including 2 on O-line, could that be doom? Have to assume Wimbley and Griffin will return given their contracts. Craig Stevens and Mike Martin step into starting roles, this is based on Cook and QuestionMarks gone.

Anyway, I'd be excited to see what that team could do next year.

Based on what I have above the only expensive contracts are CJ, NateWash, Roos, Stewart, Wimbley, Umenyioura, Kevin Williams, McCourty, Griffin, DRC.

So really only CJ,Nate,Roos,Stewart, Wimbley, McCourty, Griffin. Once Griffin Wimbley deals run out they will be (hopefully) re-signing Ayers or Brown if both/either are worth it.

Basically, we have money to spend.

    OG: Hutcinson & Velasco
    C: Khaled Holmes (3rd Rounder)

    (3-4)
DE: Jurrell Casey & Mike Martin
NT: Star or Johnathan Hankins (1st Rounder)
    OLB: Kam Wimbley
    ILB: McCarthy & Brown
    OLB: Akeem Ayers
    CB: Jason McCourty

    FS: Jairus Byrd (free agent)
    SS: Matt Elam (2nd Rounder)

    P: Kern

Also the potential of signing a new guard. Depth at ILB and OLB. Potentially a true #2 RB.

I believe about half of that guaranteed money will have been paid after this season... he's the type of player you just need to cut regardless of the financial predicament. He's that bad.

I'm not sure that the words "realistic" and "[big] money on 3 name defense free agent acquisitions" should be in the same thread. Not that I don't like the scenario that was created, I just think it's a complete pipe dream.
