I understand completely why you don't want to switch. And I don't either, I thought it'd be best to keep doing what we were doing with Greg Williams as d coordinator, but this is what we got so lets just try to be optimistic about it. There's a chance it could end up working out even better in the end.

Nah, I'm a fan if the 34. It's just we have a severe lack of talent and a few talented pieces that might not translate.

Eh. I'm optimistic. Just realistic that it's a 2-3 year build

In your opinion what made Houston's transition to the 3-4 so seamless and do you think there is any way we can replicate it?

How come no one is talking about the possibility of cutting Griffin? We all know he's great and has played well for us but 8 million dollars owed next year is too much for one position..?

    Thoughts?

Eh... They had a lot of players that seemed to fit both defenses really well. Larger LBs. Made some moves to fill holes. If you look at the names in hat defense... It's pretty crazy how much talent they had

That's true. Having a monster like Watt who fits any scheme must be nice.

Cap hit would be way too heavy. There would be $5.4 million in dead cap money leaving a net savings of only $2.6 million. While Griff is overpaid there is no way we can get anything comparable to him for $2.6 million.

Didn't know Bell was an RFA, so I retract that. MJD was a thought, I think he'd cost more than it's worth realistic though. As for Spikes, my buddy is a Pats fan and he doesn't think they're resigning him. I think he said they're pretty strapped with the cap and have guys behind him who can fill in.

If we don't resign ATV and Pollard, I'm gonna be pretty pissed though.

I don't mind the switch, because we ended up with a solid coach to implement it. In a perfect world, a Horton level 4-3 guy would have come here, but it is not a perfect world and I think we will be better off with Horton in the long run.

I don't get everyones love of MJD. Everyone is going crazy over CJ 3.9 YPC when MJD had a 3.4 YPC, gets hurt, older and is going to want a number that is north over the 4 million we save by cutting CJ. He is definitely not worth CJ and more.
