Seems that a big weakness on this team lately (this seemed to be a problem last year as well) is the complete and utter breakdowns that are suffered in the second half. And not just when we have a nice lead, like we did today against a very good Baltimore team. I mean when the game is close, or we're being competitive. I mean when the gameplan stays exactly (and I mean EXACTLY the same), I mean when their is ZERO changes in strategies. And that seems to be the problem here; no on this team, from the offense to the defense, to even special teams at times, can adjust. I don't want to completely blame Chow, Schwartz, or Fisher, because the execution ALWAYS falls apart in the second half. I dunno, let's have a good discussion on a problem that has really plagued this team lately...

frankly, i think we made enough plays to win, the officials just didnt allow them to stand.

    especially the blatant fumble.

I disagree. In this game a big reason for the collapse was in fact change. We changed from an aggressive attacking defence to a prevent type defence and allowed the Raven's to get back in the game.

Schwartz needs to go, and if Fisher condones his way of running things, then he needs to go too.

I don't think the offensive game plan stayed the same. We got real conservative just like we always do when we get a lead. We were semi wide open in the first half.

refs made bad calls today and our offense was just way too conservative in the 2nd half

I agree Vig, you have to keep playing aggressive. Never let your opponent get into a rhythm when they are obviously struggling. Keep them on their heels, don't put your own players on their heels.

  7. Referee's screwed the game for us again, but hey, at least we weren't blown out...

i agree. we confused the hell out of them. we were coming from all angles. i even said in the game thread "why can't our defense play like this all the time?" then the next thing you know, mcnair is in the two minute drill at the end of the first half and the agressive defense is gone forever, never to be heard from again.

Yes, I see no reason to keep Sirmon in the game anymore. Let him make defensive playcalls from the sideline if that's what he's so good at.
