Yup. Point doesn't change. Mediocre 4-3 defense for several years. Top 10 turnaround a few years ago with the 3-4. The Texans' transformation is even more fascinating.

Jonathon Joseph and Danielle Manning? Talented?

The fact that you think they are talented speaks more for the defensive scheme they play in.

Von Miller and JJ Watt are another story. They are talented. Every team is free to draft. Different players fit better in different schemes. We happen to have quite a few players that may do well in the 3-4.

Yeah, Jonathon Joseph isn't talented. That's why he was picked in the first round of the draft, got a boatload of money and was named to the all-pro team last year.

Anyone see him lock down AJ Green most of the game in the WC round? That guy sucks!

He was named to the all-pro team last year because of the same impressive front seven that he has managed to look pedestrian behind this season.

Bengals struggled mightily against that front seven yesterday. Despite that, Joseph was targeted the most out of all the Texans defenders and allowed the most completions. How is that locked down? Jackson is the best corner on that team.

And Manning? Really? He allowed 71% completions on the season. In comparison, Griffin allowed 66% completions on the season, had more interceptions, and Griffin, flippin' Michael Griffin is a better run stopper to boot. What?

I don't get the rest of your "logic". Andre Woolfolk was a first round draft pick and received more money than he was worth. Lots of players are overpayed as free agents. See Albert Haynesworth. See Michael Griffin, unless you think he's really talented.

Jonathon Joseph is easily one of the better corners in the league.

The Broncos went from one of the worst defenses to one of the better ones. They were a terrible 3-4 and now play the 4-3.

Vikings and Seahawks play a 4-3 and they made the playoffs. The bengals have had an exceptional defense for years with a 4-3. It does not matter! It's how you coach it and draft for it.
    Fry high fives this.

They were also a terrible 4-3, and became a good 3-4. This is where a lot of the interest comes from, as noted in the thread.

We could be a 3-4 defense easily. Wimbley and Ayers OLB's, McCarthy and Brown ILB's. Klug and Morgan DE's, Casey NT
