    40 PLAYERS GRANTED SPECIAL ELIGIBILITY FOR 2007 NFL DRAFT



    The National Football League announced today the names of 40 players who have been granted special eligibility for the 2007 NFL Draft on April 28-29.



    Each of the 40 players has met the league’s three-year eligibility rule and each has submitted a written application in which he renounced his remaining college football eligibility. The deadline for receiving applications was January 15.

    If youre not on this list you are a supplemental draftee..................

    6'4" and 252 lbs.............runs a 4.71 forty weight has gone up the last two yrs............

    A fleet-footed athlete who can make plays all over the field ... Returning sack leader who also recovered three fumbles and was second on the squad in tackles for loss in `05 ... MWC honorable mention pick as a sophomore, after a solid freshman campaign ... Named to the 2006 Bronko Nagurski Trophy (top defensive player) and Ted Hendricks Award (top defensive end) Watch Lists.

    2005: MWC honorable mention pick ... Led the team in sacks (5.5) ... Tied for sixth in Aztec season history with three fumble recoveries ... Played and started all 12 contests ... Logged the team's only sack at Colorado State, Hawai'i ... Recovered a fumble against New Mexico, TCU ... Four tackles and blocked an extra point versus TCU ... Eight tackles with a sack at Utah ... Five solo stops in the win over San Jose State ... Set a career high with nine tackles (six solo) at Air Force and also had a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery ... Second on the team in tackles against UCLA, recording seven with 1.5 tackles for a loss of eight yards and 1.5 sacks.

    2004: Ended his freshman season with 17 tackles but had five tackles behind the line of scrimmage and was third on the Aztec roster with 4.5 quarterback sacks ... In Mountain West play, he was seventh in the league with 3.5 sacks ... His first career interception came at No. 17 Michigan and his 75-yard return set up San Diego State's first score in Ann Arbor ... Also had a quarterback sack against the Wolverines ... Had a 36-yard fumble return for a touchdown against UNLV ... Other quarterback sacks came against Colorado State, Utah and Brigham Young ... Had four tackles at Wyoming and against the Utes ... Seventh in the MWC with 0.58 quarterback sacks per league game.

    2003: Redshirted, earning scout team defensive player of the year honors

    Applewhite ends his SDSU career tied for eighth in school history with 17.0 career sacks. He also had 126 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss and four recovered fumbles.


    seems like a OLB in a 3-4 to me..................
