And Flacco didn't win both Raven's SBs, the other one was won by Trent Dilfer for crying out loud.

Dilfer is not some evidence for winning a SB with a crap QB. If you can't recognize how vastly different the league now than it was over 10 years ago then god help you.

 

Goes hand in hand with the point I've trying to make... before Sherman/Wilson showed up, the team was more or less in Titans mediocrity mode.

An efficient QB who doesn't turn the ball over often (go ahead and only mention the GB game because that's one of his very very few multi-turnover games) will improve a defense as well... the defense is awesome on its own, but if Tarvaris Jackson had still been their starter, that defense would've been borderline top 10. I know this stuff goes over your head though.

You're very short sided xo. The NFL isn't going to turn into 90% read option one side of the field teams. They will always find qbs who can stand in the pocket read the field and throw the ball. (Ahem...mett..I know that kills you)
Its not like gimmick offenses are a sudden fad the last 5 years in CFB. Option plays have been the norm for a while now...know why...I'll give you a hint...there isn't 250 good qbs on the planet.

Its a lot easier for a college to build a program around an athlete than a qb system. But those pro style qbs are still out there and coming into the league (winston.) So no Wilson and mariota are not the new "prototype NFL qbs"

College spread systems are not a passing thing.

The talent pool of sure thing, can't miss Manning, Brady type QBs is smaller than ever and in the league today you have got to have above average QB play to be successful in this league.

Andy Dalton is like the bare minimum you can field and make the playoffs.

Not win in playoffs, just get there.

Teams are DESPERATE for quarterbacks. That is why they are so quick to pull the trigger on one early.
