As I stated, backup qb is not the top priority but it is a priority

Yeah...but I'm not one bit excited about this move. He's not been much better then Mett as a backup, and that's saying something.

Fitz is a much better Qb than Cassell. No team has two quality starting qbs. If a team's starter goes down early in the season and they have to rely on its backup to get them to the playoffs then they aren't usually going to go far. The only time I can remember the backup comming in and doing anything Like that and being successful was Brady's second year in the league. I think everyone can agree that finding a backup Qb of that caliber is an anomaly.

The best part about this is its one less somewhat barely capable qb available for everyone else

at least he has had SOME success at SOME point in his NFL career. Mett hasn't, and looking like he never will. The writing is now on the wall for ol' Mett.

E, if they trusted him to be the #2, why would Cassel be signed at all, much less right off the bad in FA???

I'm not implying that Cassel is good.. just that Mett is just about done here, unless he is heavenly in the preseason, and MC is terrible

I don't know if Robinson considered backup to be much of a priority. May be giving Cassel a shot to compete for backup Qb due to some knowledge about him from New England days. The stats don't indicate an upgrade to me.

Cassel played for Minnesota and Dallas in 2014 and 2015 he started 10 games.

2 wins 8 losses. (Was on teams with more talent than Titans)

    1701 yards passing; 8 tds 11 ints; 58% completions.

As I have said before, I am not a Mett fan but a look at his stats through 10 games (Played in 14):
    0 wins 10 losses.

    2347 yards passing; 12 tds 14 ints; 60% completions.

I don't see Cassel as an improvement at all.
