And now both are unemployed and we paid much less to Galik for his one year of service. Furthermore we got to roll the dice on a prospect that was new to us. This was a win for us. The fact that we both ended up with garbage doesn't change the fact that we won the trade.

 

Ayers didn't turn out to be garbage, NE got a better year out of than we got out of Galik. And a 7th round "new prospect to roll the dice on". STL got better production out of him as well.

 

You're comparing a second round pick to a seventh round pick. They both suck, the difference we were relying on Ayers to be contributor.

I was commenting on who won the trade comment. To do that you need to take into account what happened after the trade. Ayers was productive, Galik wasn't.
Yeah Ayers did nothing here, but he was productive in NE and STL.

 

He was no more productive in STL than he was here. 47 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and 5 PBUs. That is worse than any season he had here.

Somehow NE squeezed out four sacks from him in nine games.

You're right about his time in STL, no better than here. He must of had a big game in NE just after the trade?
