HAHAH!! someone made the argument that we should have paid him?!?!? It would have been US he screwed over instead of the Redskins!

Anybody giving him more than a 1 year deal was a mistake. Classic case of Contract Year Superman.

This far in hindsight, he is still fingerpointing about his demise. He is a born loser who had a couple of good years, and then rested on his laurels. Even though he didn't get most of that 100 mil contract, he still got way more than he deserved.

I would counter with the fact that they never really replaced Albert and the money they saved certainly didn't go to anything that made fans happy (like wins).
He would be gone by now regardless.
Shoulda kept him - why not?

Id have gladly given him his $1M/game for him to stay beyond 2008, like you said, we didn't go on to do anything after he left...

Who was the last person to go into the Hall without winning a Super Bowl? Dan Marino?

Marino, Barry Sanders, I'm sure there are quite a few.

Junior Seau is in the latest class. Don't think he won a Super Bowl.

Edit: Quite a few recently. Seau, Walter Jones, Cris Carter, Curtis Martin, Derrick Thomas and Cortez Kennedy.

    Once again, hindsight is 20/20.
If he had stayed and gone lazy, fans would be furious. We ended up giving that cap space to CJ... Which turned sour. But if he had stayed effective at RB he could have really helped the franchise. Haynesworth went greedy and wanted top dollar. It's his fault that he wouldn't cut the titans a bit of a hometown discount.

IMO, haynesworth was going to be a bust past 2008 regardless.

2009 we still ran his preferred defense, I tend to think hed still have been good then too, it was the 3-4 and bad attitude that did him in
