tough day for family 520 yesterday. We learned our daughter is affected by ABS meaning he interior lining of the uterus broke and liquid formed bands around her hands and foot

Unfortunately she'll be born wit no right fingers and her ankle will need surgery hopefully no nerve damage and she can walk without amputation/prosthetics

Anyone dealt with this in any way? Any tips? Been so hard on my wife.

    I'm sorry to hear that.
Never heard of it before now, just looking up the details of what it is, is utero surgery a possibility?

There's a link in here that refers to the first surgeries performed on the subject. One of the particular stories listed is from a surgery in 2002. Hopefully some of the complications and risks have been more minimized today.

My wife really wants in utero surgery on the band on her ankle, but the doc yesterday honestly seemed to be saying like that's not enough reward for the risk and the damage that's done is done he doesn't seem to believe it will get worse but I really have no idea this last 24 hrs been crazy all my energy really going to trying to make sure my wife's ok

That's the best thing you can do right now.
I would think that surgery has a lot of risks with it and to put any silver lining on a bad situation, a hand and foot is something that can be overcome and hopefully there is no other problems happening that the doc has seen yet.

    I hope for the best.

I'm sorry man, praying for your and your wife. I know how much you were looking forward to this.

A very close friend of mind is married to a neonatal nurse. She has seen it all when it comes to newborn issues. I could check with her if you like, see what she says.
