Eagles LCB Asante Samuel remains on the trade block.

Would we trade? Is so for what? He was on the block last year and little interest came up for the price. People know the eagles need to get rid of him.

    I can't see more than a 2nd for him.

He is a zone corner but i'm not sure we mostly run man. I thought we ran more zone than man or a balance of the two. Teams are getting away from the cover 2 as more offenses are getting away from the west coast concepts. Maybe you watched the corners more last year in rockers defense. Did we actually run more man?

Not worth giving up a good draft pick and paying a huge salary to a guy who isn't a great scheme fit. The Titans seem to like CBs who can tackle.

Of course the Titans won't make this trade. I makes no sense on any level.

Asante Samuel is good, but not right for us. Especially not for a 2nd rounder. 4th sure, but 2nd, nope.

I am a pretty firm believer in drafting corners and letting them learn our system. Yes both are zone, I still do not know if he would fit. Not worth the risk IMO.

Yea 2nd would never be worth it. However, it looks like he is expensive and old for the Eagles. Perhaps he could come a lot cheaper and for say a 4th?

Honestly I think we are fine at CB and should focus on other pressing needs on D. Just curious what you guys think.

I am very excited with our current CB situation. It would have been nice to get Finny back but he could never cover Andre Johnson anyway. I have confidence in McCourty and Verner as starters and I want to see what Campbell can do on the field. He will compete with Hawkins for the nickel and I hope he can win the job. He is a freak! Who knows… maybe by next year he will develop into a shutdown corner.

Let’s keep our group and then draft someone in the 7th round. I like our track record.
