Is he really a top-10 CB at this point? I certainly don't think so. Even if he is, does he fit what the Titans want to do scheme-wise at all? I just don't see it.

Samuel is the least physical cornerback I have ever seen. The people around here who think Michael Griffin shies away from contact will be stunned to see what Samuel does on the field every week.

Any upgrades to our defense at this point are welcome. I don't care if he fits our scheme (debatable) or not. He's a veteran that can probably adjust pretty quickly.

If we get Asante and draft well on the defensive side, we will have a decent defense that can help get us to the playoffs.

Think about it this way. Jones is gone. That's essentially addition by subtraction. We updraded DE with Wimbley. Now we have a chance to replace Finnegan.

    I'm all in.

    Titans 3rd round pick history:

    1999 - Zach Piller
2000 - Erron Kinney, Byron Frisch
    2001 - Shad Meier
    2002 - Rocky Calmus
    2003 - Chris Brown
2004 - Randy Starks, Rich Gardner
2005 - Courtney Roby, Brandon Jones
    2006 - None
    2007 - Paul Williams
    2008 - Craig Stevens
2009 - Jared Cook, Ryan Mouton
2010 - Damian Williams, Rennie Curran
    2011 - Jurrell Casey

    OMG BRUTAL!!!! Truly depressing.

Casey is the best 3rd round pick we've ever had... I do have faith that now that Fisher is gone, our drafts will be better. But Asante Samuel is clearly superior to every single player I just listed.

That Paul Williams pick was brutal. One catch for seven yards in his career.

Asante is not better than Finnegan.

    And it's not close, either.

I remember being super excited when we drafted him because he was such a beast at Fresno.

Anyone remember Tyrone Calico? He flashed such potential at times. Couldn't stay healthy and was dumb as a box of rocks.

Asante obviously isn't as physical as Finnegan and doesn't tackle as well. However, he's better in coverage.

Asante is feast or famine. He either makes a great play or he gives one up guessing.

When was the last time Finnegan made a play?

OMG! I had so much hope for Calico!! So disappointed in what came of him.

As for Asante, nah, I'd do 4th minimum. I would like to see what our FO can do this draft. If its anything like last then we will be better off keeping our 3rd for sure. Plus the draft has some positions that we need that are deep this year. I would say our 3rd is very valuable for us this year.

Again, our CB position is ok for right now. We could use a nickle corner back but its not as pressing as DL/DE/C
