I fear if we draft Teo we'd constantly have to hear about his damn catfish story.

I'm not sure Te'o is dumb at all. He may be incredibly naive but naivete is not the same as sheer stupidity. It's a widely accepted fact that MLB is the second most cerebral position in football (QB being the first) and clearly he was smart enough to start at that position for a top 25 team since his freshman year.

So what, he fell for a stupid scam, should everyone on earth be judged solely by the lowest point in their life? Please. That's the thing about our media today, if you watch enough of it you become convinced that your actually know guys like Manti Te'o as people.
Some of the greatest and most revered athletes of all time have been deeply flawed people; murderers, rapists, drug addicts, alcoholics, thieves, woman beaters, gambling addicts, etc. But wait, you got tricked by fake girl on the internet? No way to come back from that.

I havn't posted in this thread yet, so i figured i'd give my 2 cents worth.

I love C-mac, when he's healthy he's a stellar MLB and we all know that. He was always a good LB in college, from what I read, just same problem as here he was often injured (correct me if im wrong, you all know i don't know much about college level except from what i read).

anyway, the only thing i'd have bad to say about him (other than his health issues), is he can sometimes get swallowed by linemen and have a hard time disengaging to make plays.

He needs to be behind a 'big body' D-line to really be a star. I think with Casey, Mike, and Morgan we have good size on the line and moving forward, they will keep OL-men in check for our athletic LBs (Ayers, Mac and ZB) to make plays.

However, with his health in question (along with Diles pretty serious injury) I do think we need to get a good MLB. I believe they can be found in either the draft (maybe 4th/5th rounder) or through FA-ncy - we definitely need a back-up plan though.

This is a big year for our LBs IMO, they will all be healthy when camp starts and I think (again now that we have some big bodies on the line) they can really gell together and make some plays. Arguably, our LBs (when healthy) are our strongest unit and I'm really hoping next year they show it too. I think Gregg will also see that and design some very interesting plays.

Finally, with such an athletic LB core, there is no reason we should continuously be getting burned by TEs. I feel together they can really help us there too, which for sometime now has been a serious weakness.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. People are going to give opinions either way and I for one don't want to hear about this stupid ass story for the next decade while I watch the Titans.

And before you say "oh you won't hear about it"... how often do we still hear about VY?

Every time I have seen or heard Locker give an interview he sounds pretty intelligent. A lot more so than VY anyway. He doesnt pause every 3 words to think about the next 3.
