I guess the Saturday Night Live skit didn't make it over to Australia. Too bad, MORE COWBELL is pretty damned funny! :ha:

Don't Fear the Reaper or Owner of a Lonely Heart don't ring a bell, Gunny?

I've heard of the songs but never knew who sang them.

Blue Oyster Cult sounds vaguely familiar.

That's how I am with a lot of these bands on the Band Wars. Blue Oyster Cult are pretty well known, I'd say. The only reason I know of Yes is because of Owner of a Lonely Heart.

Owner of a Lonely Heart was just a Yes top 40 hit, it's really not a good example of their work. Back in the 70's, they were pioneers of the progressive rock movement along with groups such as Gentle Giant, Emerson Lake and Palmer and Genesis (Genesis was really cool when Peter Gabriel was the front-man).

    I actually really like Genesis.

I know nothing about Yes beside Owner of a Lonely Heart.

I can tolerate some Peter Gabriel Genesis but that Phil Collins stuff is pure crap.
Phil Collins is Charlie Brown all grown up.

Are we seriously having this comparison? Yes is in a different stratosphere. STeve Howe is one of the best guitar players ever. Checkout their Live at Montreux clips on Youtube. They look old and almost dead but can still play great.

I'd take Buck Dharma over Steve Howe any day. Howe will never live the gawd-awefulness that was Asia..
