Nope, Losing Andre Johnson (our best player)to that major knee injury killed us that year. Its a wonder we even finished with 8 wins that year.

Besides, that was year 2 of Kubiaks rebuilding. We are now in year 4 and with those rookies from Kubiaks first draft in 06 (Mario Williams, Owen Daniels, Eric Winston, Demeco Ryans, etc,etc) starting to round into form, the additions since then of players like Steve Slaton, Brian Cushing, DE Antonio Smith, DT Amobi Okoye, CB Fred Bennett, LT Duane Brown, DE Connor Barwin, etc,etc,etc... is not exactly a sign of us getting any worse moving forward.

Our Offense is basically SET. Depth at EVERY position. The only 2 question marks we have is at #2 RB, and can Schaub stay healthy. Our offense is essentially ready for the playoffs. Special teams is just fine. Defense we got a new Def. Coordinator, signed DE Antonio Smith to play opposite Mario Williams, signed several Def Line and LB depth players, drafted OLB Cushing to play next to Demeco, Dunta Robinson will be 100% again and help stabilize our CB corp, our LB corp is very deep, and if we can even just get to middle of the pack with our D, we are a playoff team. Period. The last 2 pieces on paper that we have on D is a big run stuffing DT, a ballhawking Saftey... and thats basically it.

That would be a first wouldnt it? Damn... Titans fans have some big heads. Being handed a super bowl bound foundation of a team at the start....with the GM, a top coach, key player pieces already in place really didnt do yall any good long term you know that right? Even though that organization has won ZERO Super Bowls in like 50 years... your self imposed high and mighty chair will come crashing down eventually. It does for everyone.

Texans fans on here have said the same promising things about year 3 of Kubiak... I'll say the same thing that I said then, I'll believe it when I see it.

Look, take it from a guy that's been a Lions fan for 25 years- when your team sucks, and shows a pattern of failing, SHUT UP until they break that pattern. Getting your hopes up every year only to be let down by mid-season isn't good for your health.

I don't view the oilers and the titans as the same organization. If we win the super bowl, it will be as the titans not as the oilers.

I much prefer this guy to Overalls. He sounds credible even if you don't agree 100%. The guy at least speaks in complete sentences and the body of his posts are well thought out, easy to read paragraphs.

I want to speak to his remark about Titan fans being big headed, arrogant or whatever because we were "handed" a "super bowl foundation" whatever exactly that is supposed to mean. That team played two mediocre but improving seasons as the Tennessee Oilers. Bud Adams had the City of Nashville build a respectable stadium. Somehow it got done. Undoubtedly Adams came out smelling like a rose. Two full seasons after relocating in Tennessee the Tennessee Oilers changed their name to the Tennessee Titans.

The 1996 Houston Oilers were 8-8.
The 1997 Tennessee Oilers were 8-8.
The 1998 Tennessee Oilers were 8-8.

Change the name to TITANS and presto change-o

They win the AFC and damn near it all.

To be perfectly honest I should be absolutely horrified by these throw back jerseys they are going to be wearing this year.
