Don't know about Moats, but Slaton had that one good year, Green was as old as time, Dayne was over-the-hill (and average anyway) and Chris Brown was made of glass.

This was a pre-draft trade offer.

Not surprising. Seemed pretty unrealistic to offer that much for a backup, regardless of how good he looked.

So what you're saying is you can't just stick anybody back there and they'll get a thousand yards in a season. Interesting.

Browns better be lucky they were turned down. Getting turned down works out for the best. They got a better RB in Trent Richardson and a QB to replace Colt McCoy (Even though they gave up on him way too early). They would have probably reached for Justin Blackmon at #3 had the trade went through.

The Texans are moronic for not taking the deal. They lost their starting RT and RG and of course Mario. The desperately need a #2 WR to line up across fom Johnson. They just signed Foster to a long term deal. This is pre-draft so the Texans could have looked of a backup RB later in the draft not to mention I believe there are some short term depth guys still not signed. Now they have the equivalent of a 1st round pick sitting on the bench as a #2 RB instead of a 1st round pick who could be out there for every down.

On the Browns side it might not have been a bad deal for them. They make the deal and they now can maybe make a move with the #3 pick to move back and pick up some extra picks. Taking any RB that high really doesn't make sense. We found out they really wantedd a RB, WR and QB in this draft. Making that deal probably gets them that and then some. Since we jumped on Wright they ended up not getting one of the top WRs they wanted. With Tate in the bag and the #3 pick, not to mention they might have been able to get Weeden early in the 2nd round, they could have had one of the top WRs and still put them in position to get Weeden (they ended up not taking a WR until the 4th round).

You can stick guys in there who are made of crystal or just genuine rubbish like Brown and Dayne.
