Benji Olson Announces Retirement

I've always had a serious problem with Olson. Any grown man that chooses to be called Benji is suffering some major malfunction (the dude is like 300 lbs... if he wanted to be called Ben he'd be called Ben).

Anyhooo, bon chance... Benjiman.

 

The smartest move our FO has made this offseason is picking up Jake Scott. They knew that Benji would most likely retire, and I commend them for having hind-sight. Hopefully, they'll have the same luck in the draft

 

I rather have a FO with foresight, but that's just me. )

 

Hind-sight, foresight, what have you. i'm just glad we have someone to fall back on now that Olsen is gone.

Uh, I mean, that was a good pickup but wasn't it because we were too cheap to re-sign Bell, not because Olsen was going to retire?



I would feel better with Bell-Scott as our guards going into the season over Amano/Harris-Scott. Would you?


Hopefully Harris is/will be good.

 

Benji was good and will be missed. Last year was tough on him - seemed like he was hurting all year long. I view the Scott pickup as replacing Bell. Probably a downgrade at the other guard position vs. what a healthy Benji can provide.

pretty impressive article...benji has done alot for us, and i hope he enjoys the retired life. haha must be nice.
