Wide receiver Nate Washington left LP Field with a football under each arm after the Titans beat the Jets 38-13

One will go to his mom, to keep a promise.

“She asked me if she could have my first touchdown ball of the year,” said Washington, who caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Jake Locker in the second quarter.

The other is for his trophy case — Washington eclipsed the 5,000 mark in career receiving yards. His 77-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter did the trick. It was part of his four-catch, 105-yard game.

That play will best be remembered for Washington knocking down back judge Billy Smith on his way to the end zone, after fighting off Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie for the football.

So might Washington be fined for targeting an official?

“I sure hope not, but if I do, I am going to ask coach (Mike) Munchak to pay the fine,” Washington said with a smile. “I didn’t know he was there. I saw Cromartie, and I thought it was one of their players trying to make a tackle. I bumped into him, and hopefully I was able to jump over him with my feet.”

That judge was paying ZERO attention to the field or the ball. Better not fine him...

There won't be a fine. Official got run over in a different game (Vikings maybe) and it was because he was in the way of the play. No flag, no ejection, no fine.

Yeah, that was crap. I bet if Jets won, they would show more and talk about Rex and blah, blah, blah for 10 minutes. I like being under the radar but at least show some credit where credit is due

Bad thing about being under the radar to is guys like Verner is arguably playing the best at his position in first 4 games of the season. The only other corner playing as good as him right now is Sherman but they won't mention Verner because the Media doesn't love us. Oh well, as long as other teams respect when they watch film.
