Can't believe nobody beat me to it...
Chaparral is the brand I would recommend.
You should check out the Nashville dealers website. I would recommend looking for a used boat as you will definitely get more for your money. If you are looking new for 20 grand here is an idea...
$33,900 but way bigger than the new boat.
Boats also sink...
Don't forget captain has to go down with the ship......not saying sabotage or anything.
Except in Italy
That may be an option now, boat budget is now $30,000
Im going to a boat show next week, maybe I come away with a new toy, we'll see.
My family has got a speedboat. We live close to the Ohio river, but we only take it out 2-3 times per year, if that.
With all the upkeep costs, gas, storing it, plus the expense of buying one, It's something I would never do. But if you are absolutely sure it's something you'll use a TON, then go for it. If I lived In a place where I could boat for more than a few months of the year, that would change my tune as well. but here, essentially September-April are almost completely out of the picture. Basically you get late May-August to do it, or you'll freeze your butt off in the water.
I have a friend who works for a marine repair shop, and he always said the best day to be a boat owner is the day you buy it.. after that, declining happiness about it.
My best course of action is to find a friend with a boat.. and wheez off them.
Its getting docked at our lake house. It will get used 5-6 times a week from June - August
