Not sure how many readers we have here, but considering we do spend far too many hours posting and reading via gotitans.com- I figure there must be many.

Admittedly, I have never read much (actual books at least). I can read screenplays all day long, but when it comes to novels and the like, I'm completely lost.

So we have a movie thread- why not a book thread? If you've read any lately or even in the past that are worth noting, please share.

I just ordered 'The Good War' and 'Kindly Inquisitors' from barnesandnoble.com.

I just read "Under the Banner of Heaven" by Jon Krakauer and it was terrific. It was about the Mormon Fundamentalist movement and the history the Latter Day Saints' religion and atrocities committed by both.

Jesse, my friend- somehow I'm not surprised to see you mention Playboy in this thread.

I'm reading "A Long Way Gone" right now. I'm pretty sure almost everybody has heard of the book, it's about a guy that grew up in Africa and was made into a child soldier.

I only read in the john. Mostly what is on product packaging. Did you know that Charmin suggests you do NOT use their product to clean your glasses? Even though it is very soft, it comes from wood and is therefore not suitable for cleaning glass or plastic.

Haven't read anything of note in a while. Last book I read worthy of recommendation was House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. Amazingly unique novel. Can't explain it to anyone without telling the whole story. This is a must read for those who enjoy reading.

Reading Child of God by Cormac McCarthy right now. I'd recommend anything by McCarthy essentially, especially Blood Meridian, The Road, The Border Crossing Collection, No Country for Old Men, etc.

I recently read " A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn and believed it to be excellent and very thought provoking
