Boston all the way for me. No doubt about it.

WTF Why no love for Boston??? Everything I've heard from the Sex Pistols is complete garbage.

Boston is one of those bands that most people either love or hate. Granted, they were groundbreaking at their debut, but when the Pistols showed up, s%^t got real.

Oy, that would be the other way around... Pistols brought Rock n Roll back in a big way - ironically, at a time when flare-trousered, wide-collared, mustachioed crapsters like Boston were oppressing the airwaves.. Thank god for the Sex Pistols..

I don't disagree that the Pistols were an intregal piece of rock's reformation, but it wasn't just them. They really weren't that creative, they were lousy in fact and were eventually victims of the "system" they peached against. UK punk has always been more of an underground thing here. Now, if you want to talk about "real" punk founders (a la Chuck Berry, Elvis, etc a generation prior), consider the New York Dolls, Ramones, Iggy and the stooges, Blondie and Patti Smith. They (the most recognizable names) created it in NY before the SP were even around.

IMO....the Sex Pistols most lasting contribution was not their music, it was their fashion style.

At 32 I feel too young to vote in this poll. I like Boston but I also appreciate who the Sex Pistols were and what they did and how they impacted rock. By the time I ever listened to either of those bands the relevance of their "current day" context had long since faded.
