I'd post Floyd Reese's acquisitions, but the dude was GM waaay too long to start looking stuff up (94-06). It'd also be a waste of time since most these posters couldn't even read in 1994, and wouldn't know who Willie Davis or Yancey Thigpen even were.

as far as I'm concerned, anyone with ties to the Oilers/ Fisher era should never be hired again.

 

1. There is no doubt about that, when he left it definitely wasn't on good terms. That is actually when Fisher should have been fired instead of Floyd. We could have brought in a coach that was on board with Vince as our QB because it seemed like Bud and Floyd wanted him and Fisher clearly wanted Leinhart.

2. This is also true but also why I think that it was easy for Fisher to convice Bud that Floyd needed to go. That cap hell period was where this organization hit rock bottom. The way he worked McNair's deal and how they ended up trading him was ridiculous. Steve deserved more respect than that.

 

The only thing Reese did that's worth noting is pulling a rabbit out of his hat to draft Eddie George, then he got Blaine Bishop later.

Reese then later cut half the team in 2003.

 

My god how stupid. We went through cap hell because he kept resigning and extending players for short term cap purposes until it totally blew up. Piller and Olson were making 2X what they were worth and we were taking a significant cap hit from players who had been gone for years.

I give Reese the slight edge in the draft and MR the edge with contracts.

If we could have reese handling all the draft and MR contracts we would be ok.


I'm willing to see how Reese does with Fisher gone.
Reese will never be back.

 

Blaine Bishop was already here when Reese took over.

Later? Bishop came to Houston in 93 and Eddie in 96.

As for cutting half our playings in 2003. Can you name them? You said 2003 remember.

 

I'd rather we be in "cap hell" for 2 seasons but competitive the few years before than just simply never be in the running but never getting near the cap.
